Watch these £20 banknotes come to life 🌟💷 What you’re seeing is a series of uncut banknote sheets which show how our notes are made: printed in layers over time so the artwork and security build up bit by bit. This is an important part of how notes are coloured, with each round of printing containing a different pigment, culminating in a lovely design! But it isn’t all for show - security is also integrated into each part of the printing process. This could include holographic foil, the metallic thread (on our paper notes), raised print, microlettering and UV features. Each element works to keep British currency secure and stable. These sheets feature the £20 Series F banknotes, adorned with the face of economist Adam Smith, originally issued 13 March 2007 and withdrawn 30 September 2022. Keen to learn more?
