Come with me on a day of skiing at Arapahoe Basin! #ad We started our day with a skin up the mountain to get some exercise and have the mountain to ourselves. Not only does A-Basin have some of the best steep skiing in North America, but they also have a huge focus on environmental responsibility. In addition to advocating for strong climate policy with elected officials and continually engaging community leaders, they focus on their footprint at the resort. We were really impressed with the front-row EV charging and overall investments in clean energy. And, they did achieve 100% clean, renewable energy this season! When the lifts opened, we started our day on the Pali chair, skied a run on the slalom slope, and then took Lenawee to the summit. From there, we dropped into Beavers and did some great tree skiing. As the storm rolled in, we went into the steep gullies. We made two laps in the steep gullies and skied numbers 2 and 4. We got to make some turns with the patrollers and got to meet Echo, the avalanche puppy. A-basin really speaks to me because over 73% of the terrain is for advanced skiers. We had SO MUCH fun in the steep gullies! I loved the alpine flavor and the thin, high-altitude air. This place has a special energy and spirit. After working up an appetite, we stopped for a charcuterie and hot cocoa at Il Refugio, the highest restaurant in North America. We took a few more runs then went to 6th Alley for apres with friends! And I got to share it all with my honey, Rob. Skiing is the ultimate romantic getaway and Pali may be the most romantic lift, as a two-seater. I’m so grateful for a Valentine’s Day ski trip. Yoooo, Lake Reveal has shown itself! We have a fun weekend lined up for all of you! Black Mountain Express and Lenawee Express will be turning to provide the fun slushy turns, Pride Weekend events will be happening Saturday & Sunday(did someone say a double rainbow rail for the rail jam?!), DJs and live bands, and extended lift hours on Monday to honor those who have died serving our country. This weekend is also the last weekend for Steilhang, so come get your brat and radler fix while you still can!
