“Sweater Weather” is a song by American alternative band the Neighbourhood. The song was written by group members Jesse Rutherford, Zach Abels and Jeremy Freedman, and was produced by Justyn Pilbrow. It serves as the lead single from their debut studio album, I Love You (2013). “Sweater Weather” reached number one on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart in June 2013, logging 11 non-consecutive weeks at the summit of the chart. Pentatonix covered the song for their 2018 album Christmas Is Here! with an accompanying music video. The song was also covered by Kurt Hugo Schneider, Alyson Stoner, and Max S in 2014. In mid-to-late 2020, the song experienced a resurgence in popularity due to it being used on the social media platform TikTok. The song gained over five million on-demand streams on Spotify within the month of November 2020. As of January 3, 2026, the song is the third most streamed on Spotify. In late 2023, for the 35th anniversary of Alternative Airplay, Billboard ranked the song as the 15th-most successful in the chart’s history. “It’s snowing! This was the first of 4 snow showers during my Mt Roland Hike. For this little Queensland girl, there’s still something so magical about walking in these conditions. The blustery wind is swirling the snow in all different directions so I’m certainly feeling it. These particular conditions have an enormously positive effect on my mood as it instantly sends me as high as a kite! It’s easy to connect with my inner child who jut begs continually to be out hiking in vibrant weather. The added flood of endorphins helps me manage my spinal pain which was a nasty 8/10 before the snow started & magically now has dropped to a 6/10 which makes all the different to the movement & enjoyment factor! These weather conditions have come just as forecast so I’d been really mindful of that when preparing my hiking gear & contents in my backpack today.
