👉🏼Off-road options for wheelchair users👈🏼 I’ve always really appreciated the outdoors and my time indulging in nature. As a wheelchair user, it’s a pretty constant reality of me greatly sacrificing my desire to go hiking, spending time on the beach, or even just cruising around on anything other than pavement. Believe me, my desire to do these things hasn’t wavered… If anything, it’s increased, however accessibility to these activities in my every day wheelchairs is a hassle. Most off-road options for wheelchair users are not covered by insurance and the expense can cost thousands of dollars. So, when I have the opportunity to try chairs like this, I take them. This chair is propelled by these ratchet arms that I have my hands velcroed to. Based on my level of function, it’s pretty difficult to push, however, the beauty of that is it works my muscles. I do have the push handles on the back for Katarina to be able to assist if we were ever on a hike together, which we both really like. Obviously, with such a substantial price point, I want to make sure that whatever I do end up spending the money on should be well researched and trialed. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be able to try out different options.
