The 79-year-old president has been observed struggling to stay awake at multiple official events and public appearances since taking office. Worth noting: during the 2024 campaign, Trump repeatedly suggested that President Biden’s age and mental acuity posed a national security risk to the country - often citing Biden’s moments of visible fatigue as evidence. He called him “Sleepy Joe” for years. The question of whether a sitting president can perform the duties of the office is not a partisan talking point. A teenager. Just a baby herself. First pregnancy. Scared in the way only a girl who’s about to become a mama overnight can be scared. She’s one of the mamas in our doula program, and yesterday I found out her induction was today - and she had nothing waiting for her at home. No bassinet. No car seat. No diapers. No soft little outfit to bring her baby home in. So I posted. I asked. I hoped. In less than 24 hours, our community showed up so hard I don’t even have the words. This video is my team and I today - folding, packing, preparing every single thing she needs so that when she walks out of that hospital with her baby in her arms, she walks into a life that’s ready for her. As a clinical director and a doula myself, I’ve watched a lot of mamas go into inductions. I have never watched one walk in this loved by people who have never met her ❤️ She needs so much love. So much grace. And today, because of you, she has both - in piles and bags and bassinets and folded blankets and a hundred quiet acts of kindness from strangers who decided she mattered. She’s being induced as I post this. Her baby is coming into a world that already chose them both. To everyone who gave, shared, dropped off, or said a prayer - thank you.
