What if I told you there's a Pokemon that senses disasters before they happen, runs down from the mountains to warn everyone, and gets blamed for CAUSING the disaster it tried to prevent? Meet Absol. Every time an earthquake is coming, every time a tsunami is about to hit, Absol's horn picks up the warning signs. And it doesn't stay safe in the mountains. It runs down to find people. To warn them. To try to save them. But here's the tragedy. Every single time Absol appears before people, disaster follows. Not because Absol caused it. But because Absol came to warn them about what was already coming. And instead of saying thank you, people called it the Disaster Pokemon. They spread superstitions that Absol BRINGS catastrophe. They hunted it. They hated it. They blamed it for every earthquake and tidal wave that followed its appearance. The Pokedex literally says: "Long ago, superstitions were spread about it, saying it brought disaster. This fed a hatred of it, and it was driven deep into the mountains." Absol was punished for trying to help. Forced to live alone in the harshest mountain environments. Watching disasters happen from a distance because coming down to warn people only made them hate it more. And the cruelest part? The Pokedex also says: "The only thing unlucky about Absol is its appearance. It protects fields and warns people of disaster, so one ought to be grateful for it." It protects fields.
