The cold never bothered her anyways- but the sleeves did- lol ❄️ We let her choose by eye movements, by showing her 2 options and then letting her show which one she gravitates to. She chose Elsa BUT when we got in the dressing room, those sleeves weren’t working with us. Lolol so we had to pivot. Lol But proud of her for choosing what she likes!!!! #Disney #disneyparks #accessibility #disability #inclusion

Touchscreens are supposed to be effortless right? I think they were a mistake. From unwanted interactions, to distracted driving, to inaccessibility let’s chat about how touchscreens were a mistake. As a blind person, touchscreens negatively impact me many times throughout the day from appliances to elevators and everything in-between. What’s your biggest touchscreen frustration? This wasn’t said because there was a loud crash. She didn’t say it because she thought I needed help. She said it because she was inpatient. This bathroom had 2 stalls. 1 accessible, 1 not. We waited for 10 minutes for the accessible stall to open. We let people cut in front of us to use the regular stall as it opened.. because no other stall works for me. It finally opened. We weren’t begrudging someone using the accessible stall because there were only two, but it is still so painstakingly obvious at how EVERYONE tries to get the accessible stall even when they very likely/often don’t need it. (If you have a invisible disability, I’m obviously not bashing on you) My mom rolled me in, and then went back in line to wait for the regular stall. I finished and was just waiting for my mom to be done when an annoyed lady yelled, “Honey do you need some help in there!?” I immediately panicked and shut down so my mom spoke for me and said no. I didn’t want some stranger getting me out of the restroom—most people don’t! My mom finished, got me out, and we rolled off. The lady was irritated she had to wait 5mins. Welcome to the world of disability. #disability #wheelchair #medicallycomplex #accessibility #fyp

Have you ever thought about how scary a silent electric scooter is when you can't see it coming? 🥺 Today, I'm navigating the city completely alone to buy a surprise cake for the friend who cared for me after I lost my sight. Getting to the mall is a massive challenge when bikes block the tactile paving, but kind strangers always help me find my way. Part 2 is up next! She’s 87 years old. Today, she tried Tesla’s Full Self-Driving for the first time. And she loved it. For many people, this might just look like another cool piece of technology. But for older adults, it means something much bigger. It means freedom. The hardest part of aging isn’t getting older — it’s when people start saying, “You shouldn’t drive anymore.” Suddenly independence disappears. Simple things like visiting friends, going to the doctor, or buying groceries require asking someone else for help. But technology is starting to change that. An 87-year-old enjoying her first FSD drive isn’t just a tech moment — it’s a glimpse of a future where aging doesn’t automatically mean losing mobility. And it’s not just seniors. For people with disabilities or anyone who cannot drive, this kind of technology could open the world again. Sometimes innovation isn’t about speed. It’s about giving people their independence back. #AutonomousDriving #Tesla #FutureOfMobility #AgingWithDignity #Accessibility
