What If Your Mother Was Abused When She Was Growing Up? Here’s 1 book and 1 video to help anyone in your life. See what Dr. Vincent Felitti advises (video link attached at the bottom of this post). Get this 1 book developed during the adverse childhood experiences study and ACE Study. Not your trauma but your mother’s? From a real story told to me this week, “When she acts so nervous, I say to her, can’t you just let it go? She doesn’t understand why she is so nervous all the time. She doesn’t understand why her mother is so nervous and often messing with her fingers and her hair. She asks her mom, “Why do you do that?” She knows she was abused as a kid because she told her. She had to stop her mother from being so weird with her kid. She just keeps asking her mom why she can’t get over it and just let go because It happened so long ago? “I didn’t go through anything like that, so I really can’t understand.” This book was created during the adverse childhood experiences study, and it includes all of 10 ACE Questions as well as proven treatment solutions from Dr. Felitti and doctors that collaborated with thousands of participants in the ACE Study. You can read the book and ask your mother if she’d like to read it with you. Reading just the first five pages may be enough. Then you can discuss if reading together feels right and you can discuss this when the time is right. You can suggest you can read five pages at a time together. You may be amazed at how much better both of you can be. This is 1000 times better than telling her to just get over it and just let go. You’ll be showing her how you will be gaining more understanding and compassion than you’ve ever felt.
