This time last year I was preparing to hike over 4000km on the PCT.. this was one of my final gear checks… so here’s info on what I used, what I changed and why… item details below! 👆🏼 Also links to a lot of these items up top in highlights! 🎒 Pack - Osprey Eja Pro - loved it! Lightweight, comfortable and held up for the entire trail and then some. 💤 Sleeping Quilt - Neve gear Warratah -8 comfort, loved it! 🛌 Sleeping pad - Nemo tensor extrem (8.5 r value, this baby was warm) great for a cold sleeper like me! ⛺️ Durston x-Mid Pro 2 - loved it!! However zips gave out a little under half way through, which was common on trail. That being said I absolutely love the size & the ease of putting up and down 🍳 Toaks 750ml titanium pot - loved it, cooked 2 packets of ramen easily almost every night. Perfect for me. 🍴 Sea to Summit long handled spork, does exactly what I needed it to. I preferred it to the Toaks because the Toaks spork was sharp and I was worried it’d damage my gear. 🔥 MSR Pocket Rocket 2 stove - lightweight and reliable 💧 Katadyn Filter - I ended up swapping mid trail to the Sawyer Squeeze so I could gravity filter, wouldn’t go back to a system that I couldn’t gravity filter (platypus, sawyer etc) 💦 Platypus 2L soft flask for water storage. Love it, have had it for years and it’s great, I could gravity filter from my CNOC straight into the platypus storage bottle via the sawyer. 🚽 Culoclean bidet - life changing in trail, you feel fresh & clean 🧼 Kiwi UL pee cloth, nice to minimise TP like above 🪏 Dirtsaw deuce trowel, light and strong 🔋 Nitecore 20,000 & 10,000 mah power banks (most people would be fine with 10,000 for majority of the trail, some longer stretches having extra was nice, I was filming a lot) 🔦 Nitecore NU20 headlamp Charging cords & wall adaptor Pacific Crest Trail gear list! #PCT #PCT26 Continued in comments !! 💘

I’ve owned a lot of outdoor backpacks, but the Hyperlite Southwest 70L is by far my favorite 🏔️🎒I lived in the Himalayan mountains, camping and hiking everyday for months, and THIS was the go-to pack for the mountaineers there. Since most of my travel now revolves around long treks and time in the mountains, this bag made perfect sense for me! FYI- If you’re not spending majority of your time trekking, this probably isn’t the bag for you. There are way more affordable options—like the Osprey Fairview 35–45L, which I took to over 25 countries and loved!! The Hyperlite is ultra lightweight, built for thru-hiking and serious outdoor adventures. It’s definitely an investment, but the quality is unmatched.
