I recently started using Affinity, so I’m still learning too, but this is how I do basic typesets. You can create more masters to create more complex ones, but I wanted to keep this simple as a starting point. Tips: ❌ Don’t apply paragraph styles to the chapter text. This erases all of the italic and bold formatting. ✅ DO create character styles for formatting things like different fonts for text messages, letters, etc. • Save the document after your setup (and before adding your fic specific info) to keep as a template for future typesets. • If you want section/chapter names at the top of each page, create new sections then insert running headers rather than typing in text the way I did here. • If you want a table of contents, create a paragraph style to apply to the chapter text box. In the ToC tab, toggle the “paragraph style” option.

Whelp, is it finally time to jump off the Adobe Ship? I heard this price jump was coming. I've been thinking about switching to the Affinity Suite for a while and this may be the push I need.
