Affinity Tutorial - The Stroke Effect 1. Drop any image 2. Add a threshold layer and adjust 3. To fine-tune your threshold details, you can use the ‘burn brush’ on your original image layer. Brush over the areas that are overexposed to bring back some details. Likewise, you can use the ‘dodge brush’ over shadow areas. 4. Select all layers and ‘merge selected’. This compounds everything into one layer, like a png. 5. Click the cog icon to open up layer’s blending option. Only use the left slider. You can drag either end points down (this gets rid of the whites or blacks depending on which one you slide down) 6. Add an empty pixel layer and drag it below. Now ‘merge selected’. 7. Click the ‘fx’ icon and add an outline. 8. Since our subject is still filled with a colour, you need to open up the cog menu again. Slide down one of the endpoints to make only the stroke visible. #affinity #selftaughtdesigner #design #designtutorial #graphicdesign
