🙌🏼 EASY, NO PREP, ENGAGING ACTIVITY! 📌 Save this activity to do with your students! And follow @shutyourdoorandteach for more fun and engaging activities. My class loved this activity because it got them up and moving and working together to see which group was going to build the highest standing tower! It got them talking to their partners and coming up with strategies after strategies through trial and error. All the towers managed to fall over more than once and students had to collaborate to rebuild their towers. This is an activity that will for sure get your students excited and motivated to work together. It involves every student. Have you tried this activity or something similar? The end of the school year is the perfect time to celebrate, reflect, and make lasting memories with your kiddos! Here are some fun and meaningful activities to wrap up the year. 💛 Memory Wall - set up a wall where students can write down their fave memories or positive messages for their classmates. 💛 DIY Yearbook - create a mini class yearbook! Let students contribute a drawing, poem, or short reflection about their fave moments from the year. Print and bind them so each student gets a copy to remember the class by. 💛 Outdoor Games Day - organise a day of fun games and challenges, relay races, tug-of-war, or even a simple obstacle course. It’s a high-energy way to let off steam and bond before the end of the year. 💛 Thank You Letters to School Staff - have students write thank you notes to people around the school (like the groundsman, admin staff, other teachers) who have made their year better. It’s a great way to teach gratitude. 💛 Bucket List for Next Year - have each student write a few things they’d love to do or learn next year. Collect the lists and either pass them along to their future teacher or send them home as reminders of their goals. 💛 Movie Day with Reflections - pick a classic, age-appropriate movie with a meaningful theme and have a “movie day” with popcorn and comfy seating. Afterward, discuss the lessons in the movie and connect it to what they learned during the year. 💛 Art Showcase or Gallery Walk - put together a mini-exhibit of all the creative work students made throughout the year. Invite other classes to “visit” the gallery or take a walk through with your class to celebrate their artistic growth. 💛 DIY Graduation Ceremony - host a mini graduation with certificates or “moving up” certificates. You could even let each student give a short speech about what they learned this year or what they’re looking forward to. It’s a formal way to celebrate their hard work and transition.
