I got laid off yesterday. Not gonna lie, it’s a punch in the gut and I’m not exactly feeling on top of the world. But I really wanted to share this with you all because you’re like I really have built a great community of friends on here. Honestly, having this community is what’s keeping me going right now. Even on a tough day like today, knowing I have you guys makes it a little easier to pick myself up. So thank you for being here and for giving me a reason to still show up and create. I’m going to have a bit more time on my hands, so I’d love to hear what kind of content you want to see…book recs, anything you’ve enjoyed from me before, or new ideas. I visited Phoenix for a couple days this week on my Spring Break, and after getting to have my face melted off Tuesday night by @zakkwyldebls @dariolorina @johnjddeservio & @jefffabb at the BLS show, all I wanted to do was play my guitar. I was really moved by their tribute to Dime & Vinnie Paul during the show - it caught me off guard, but in a really cool way. And I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So when I walked up to the @guitarcenter that was across the street from our hotel the next morning & saw a poster of Dime in the window, I knew it was a sign that I needed to go in. And then after looking at all of the new guitars, when I turned around and saw this Dean hanging in the Used section, I got goosebumps & couldn’t wait to play it. Yesterday 3/11 would have been Vinnie Paul’s 62nd birthday - he was a year younger than what my dad would be if he were alive today too. So, yesterday in the Phoenix Guitar Center, this little jam was for them - for Dime, for Vinnie Paul & for my Dad, Tim Watson 🤘 Godspeed. TW- child loss. Introducing the Pappy saga to Instagram. This is how beautiful saying goodbye can be and I don’t regret for one second stopping the fight. It’s the ending none of us wanted but were forced to accept. We treated every second as if that was all we had left and this is just a glimpse of what that love looked like. We never saw how sick he was or as speculators say, “emaciated.” We just saw him. The question is, why is it the idea of death that makes many realize how important love is and why do we often fail to realize it before it’s too late? Knowing what I know now, love is it. It’s all we are designed for as humans, whether it’s in our hobbies, family, friends, strangers, or pets. I couldn’t imagine living a life without Alexander even though losing him should have killed me too.

This was one of my very first major viral videos. I made this video January 18, 2021. I wanted to show what it was like for kids in the 80s and all the stuff we could do that we can't do now. When I started creating content I dabbled in different niches and then I started creating Gen X material in mid 2020. I decided I wanted to make skits instead of just being a narrative and this skit really took off. I had fun telling stories of what it was like growing up in the 80s and I've been doing it ever since. I started incorporating life in the early 90s because that's when I was in high school. I stg it’s ALWAYS at this eos I can’t catch a break lmfao 😭😭 No hate at all!! Just wanted to share a funny interaction. I do this exercise all the time at this gym and there is never a great way for me to reach this bar in the way that I need to get up there (even with a box) I would even argue that imo a box is so much more unstable especially if I’m still not tall enough and would have to be jumping from it to reach the bar in this way. They only weight like 20lbs and can be very wobbly. I wasn’t going to REALLY argue with her because at the end of the day it’s not that deep. I just so happened to be filming all my sets of these to check my form and she happened to be training a class and was facing me the entire time and it wasn’t until my last set that she decided to say something. - #gym #fitness #gymreels #karen #eos
