Imagine turning on the radio on March 5, 1963… and hearing the news that the voice of Patsy Cline had been silenced forever. On this day 63 years ago, Patsy was returning to Nashville after a benefit show in Kansas City when her plane went down near Camden, Tennessee, also claiming the lives of Hawkshaw Hawkins, Cowboy Copas, and their pilot Randy Hughes. Today’s video is a special request who asked for this beautiful Patsy classic. I’m honored to keep her music alive and share it with all of you. Thank you for listening and for loving these timeless songs as much as I do. ❤️ What is your favorite Patsy Cline song? Let me know in the comments. #PatsyCline #ClassicCountry #CountryMusic #OnThisDay #CountryMusicHistory

Before the world knew her as Patsy Cline, she was Virginia Patterson Hensley from Winchester, Virginia. In 1961, a devastating car crash nearly ended her life and career. The accident left her with serious injuries and scars she would later cover with the headbands and wigs that became part of her iconic style. After months of recovery, she returned to recording and released one of the most famous songs in country music history: Crazy, written by Willie Nelson. Just two years later, on March 5, 1963, a plane crash took her life at only 30 years old. Yet her voice never truly left the airwaves. #PatsyCline #CountryMusicHistory #MusicHistory #CountryLegend #OnThisDay

On this day 63 years ago, we lost the great Patsy Cline. This has always been one of my favorite moments of hers. She has such power and emotion at the key change toward the end, that you can hear someone yelling "YEAH!" Truly one of the greatest vocal talents of the 20th century. #patsycline #singer #voice #song country
