Instead of clicking through the AWS Console to set up resources like EC2 instances or S3 buckets, you write a blueprint (a template) that describes exactly what you want, and CloudFormation builds it for you. How It Works The core workflow involves three main components: Templates: You write a JSON or YAML file that lists the resources you need and their configurations. Stacks: When you upload your template, CloudFormation creates a "Stack." This is a single unit that contains all the resources defined in your template. If you delete the stack, AWS automatically cleans up and deletes all the resources inside it. Change Sets: Before updating a live stack, you can generate a "Change Set" to preview how your changes will impact your running resources (e.g., seeing if a database will be modified or completely replaced).
