But if you layer neighbors on the color wheel, you get vibration. 🥑 Here is the exact layering strategy I used in this video: 1️⃣ The Base: I flood the shape with bright Yellow first. This acts as a backlight. 💡 2️⃣ The Form: While wet, I drop in Green. Because the yellow is underneath, the green instantly looks warmer and richer. 3️⃣ The Harmony: For the seed, I used Ochre. Why? Choosing the color scheme🌸 Learning even the basics of color theory and color psychology go a long way.This painting that I am working on is an analogous color pallete(color on a similar end of the wheel). Blue-Purple-Red. But I went for more muted and darker versions of those because the mood I wanted to convey was of sorrow and strength (as opposed to happy/flashy/spring). But I picked a bright Ultramarine blue as an accent color for a pop to just make the whole composition more interesting. The muted gold border can be considered a complement to the purple (opposite on the wheel). Although this is thought out but it doesn't have to be!
