ADHD makes it harder to focus and remember things, which can worsen auditory issues 🧠. Juggling ADHD symptoms can add to the difficulty of processing sounds 🤯. Since APD and ADHD often go hand in hand, it’s important to get a thorough evaluation and personalized help 👩‍⚕️. One of my co-occurring disabilities is ✨APD✨ or auditory processing disorder! My first job was working as a receptionist actually…and to no one’s surprise, I sucked at it and only lasted a month! I actually could not even get someone’s name over a phone call and I brushed this off for years thinking everyone else struggled with this too. I started using captions on everything, I stopped taking calls, I became the friend perpetually known for saying “huh”, and it wasn’t until I got my hearing checked a few years ago that I found out I had APD!
