Artemis II crew weekly update for June 3-7, 2024. We are back in Houston after a jam-packed week. This Sweetgum tree was grown from a seed flown around the Moon on Artemis I. Tomorrow we have a day of lunar geology training to round out the week. Cheers!

Comecei a me exercitar imediatamente, e foi tão legal. Memória muscular completa! Realmente parece que eu nunca saí. Aqui está uma espiada em nossa rotina diária de exercícios!” . . #gabrielpaivapersonal #mimosodosul #exerciciofisicoévida #iss #artemisii

Sliding into the holidays like… Recently, the Artemis II crew practiced how to safely get themselves out of the Orion spacecraft post-splashdown, should there be an emergency reason they need to leave the capsule prior to the recovery team arriving. The #Artemis II mission will send @nasaastronauts @astro_reid, @astrovicglover, @astro_christina, and @CanadianSpaceAgency astronaut @astrojeremy on a 10-day flight test around the Moon. Under Artemis, NASA will return humans to the Moon for long-term exploration and scientific discovery. Thumbnail credit: James Blair #Astronauts #NASA #Exploration #Moon #Orion #Training #Recovery

Astronauts in space never skip leg day 💪🚀 The Artemis II crew is training inside the tiny Orion capsule, and their workout setup is surprisingly smart. On the ISS, they have a whole gym—ARED machine, treadmill, stationary bike. But Orion is small and the mission is only 10 days long. So instead of heavy equipment, they use a flywheel system—basically a giant yo-yo that creates up to 400 lbs of resistance. Squats, deadlifts, rows… all possible in zero gravity. Space workouts = muscle & bone protection. Even astronauts have to earn their protein shake 😅 Follow for more space facts in Hinglish & English 🚀

Train today, perform tomorrow. The Artemis II astronauts practiced some of the pre-launch procedures they’ll perfect before their slated 2024 launch to the Moon. @NASAAstronauts @Astro_Reid, @AstroVicGlover, and @Astro_Christina, along with @CanadianSpaceAgency astronaut @AstroJeremy, awoke at their crew quarters at @NASAKennedy and put on test versions of the Orion Crew Survival System spacesuits they will wear on launch day. They then departed to Launch Pad 39B in our new #Artemis crew transportation fleet. Upon arrival at the pad, the crew headed onto the mobile launcher and proceeded up the tower to the white room inside the crew access arm. There was no Orion spacecraft or Space Launch System rocket on the pad today, but on launch day this is where the crew will take their final Earth-bound steps prior to their journey around the Moon. 🎬👨🚀🌕📰 “Recorded last Thursday! Here’s your Artemis II crew weekly update for March 3-7, 2025. Standing in Building 9, @nasajohnson’s Space Vehicle Mockup Facility, brought back memories of training for my first spaceflight, but the real excitement was watching history unfold in real time. On Sunday, March 2, Blue Ghost landed on the Moon, sending back images from the lunar surface, and Intuitive Machines was right behind it, aiming for another historic landing. By Friday, our Artemis II crew was at SXSW, sharing our mission with the best audience! Cheers. Oh, and we still need a Zero-G indicator for our mission.
