Meet your Artemis II crew: Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, and mission specialist Christina Koch from NASA, and mission specialist Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency. I made this back when the Artemis II crew was picked back in 2023 so figured the edit deserved a reshare with the crew launching to the Moon in just a few weeks! #ArtemisII #space #astronaut #nasa

🚀 Artemis II: Humans Return to the Moon’s Vicinity After 53 Years! . NASA’s Artemis II mission is set to launch as early as February 6, 2026, carrying four astronauts on a 10-day journey around the Moon and back — the first crewed deep-space mission in more than half a century. 🛰️ What Makes Artemis II Special: • This mission will not land on the Moon — instead, the Orion spacecraft will follow a “free-return trajectory,” flying around and beyond the Moon before returning to Earth, testing systems in deep space. • The crew will travel farther from Earth than any humans have in decades, pushing the boundaries of human space exploration. • The flight will validate life-support, navigation, communication, and safety systems ahead of future lunar landings under the Artemis program. 👨🚀 Meet the Artemis II Crew: • Reid Wiseman – Commander • Victor Glover – Pilot • Christina Koch – Mission Specialist • Jeremy Hansen – Mission Specialist (Canadian Space Agency) These astronauts will pave the way for Artemis III, which aims to land humans — including the first woman and first person of color — on the Moon’s surface in the next phase of exploration. 🌍 Why It Matters: Artemis II is a critical step toward sustained lunar exploration, laying the foundation for science on the Moon, long-term presence, and eventually missions to Mars. It’s a bridge from the Apollo era into a new golden age of space exploration. 🚀 For daily updates and deep dives into space science, NASA & SpaceX mission news, cosmic discoveries, and cutting-edge space tech, follow Space Fusion (@space_fusion_9384)! 🌠✨ #moonlanding #space #nasa #artemis #science

Happy #InternationalDayOfRock! @Metallica is adding "Fuel" to the fire of our #Artemis missions to the Moon. Building on the success of the Artemis I mission, the Artemis II mission will send @NASAAstronauts @Astro_Reid, @AstroVicGlover, @Astro_Christina, and CSA (@CanadianSpaceAgency) astronaut @AstroJeremy on a 10-day flight test around the Moon. Their journey will be the first crewed mission on NASA’s path toward establishing a long-term lunar presence. Video description: As Metallica's “Fuel” begins to play, shots of the Artemis I launch and footage of astronauts in orange flight suits is shown. At 18 seconds, we see four astronauts walking toward the camera as text comes on the screen, “The Next Generation.” Footage of the Artemis I launch continues, as “of Space Exploration” text appears on the screen. A photo of the crew for Artemis II appears with the text “The Crew.” At 35 seconds in, we see side profile portraits of each crew member. NASA Astronaut Christina Koch appears with the text “Koch - Mission Specialist.” CSA Astronaut Jeremy Hansen appears with the text “Hansen - Mission Specialist.” NASA Astronaut Victor Glover appears with the text “Glover - Pilot.” Finally, NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman appears with the text “Wiseman - Commander.” To end the video, a black screen comes to view and an animated Artemis logo appears before a glitch effect is used to transition to the NASA logo. During Find Your Place in Space Week, we celebrate Christina Koch and the entire Artemis II crew for inspiring the next generation of astronauts. Together, you are opening doors for new leaders to find their place in space.

The @NASA Artemis II crewed mission around the Moon will inspire the next generation of explorers, and show every child – in America, in Canada, and across the world – that if they can dream it, they can be it.

Recorded last Thursday! Here’s your Artemis II crew weekly update for March 3-7, 2025. Standing in Building 9, @nasajohnson’s Space Vehicle Mockup Facility, brought back memories of training for my first spaceflight, but the real excitement was watching history unfold in real time. On Sunday, March 2, Blue Ghost landed on the Moon, sending back images from the lunar surface, and Intuitive Machines was right behind it, aiming for another historic landing. By Friday, our Artemis II crew was at SXSW, sharing our mission with the best audience! Cheers. Oh, and we still need a Zero-G indicator for our mission. Got any ideas? 🔗 freelancer.com/moon-mascot

Boldly going and leaving no crumbs 💅 The #Artemis II crew chats about memorable stories wearing spacesuits during training, testing, and practical applications. The crewmates, @AstroVicGlover, @Astro_Christina, @Astro_Reid, and @CanadianSpaceAgency astronaut @AstroJeremy, will be the first to sport the bright orange Orion Crew Survival System (OCSS) suits inside the Orion spacecraft during the mission around the Moon and back. The OCSS suits are designed for a custom fit and equipped with technology features to help protect astronauts on launch day, in emergency situations, throughout high-risk parts of missions near the Moon, and during the high-speed return to Earth. 💫 The #Artemis II crew wants YOU to apply to #BeAnAstronaut! 🔗 go.nasa.gov/astro2024 🔗 Astronaut applications are open NOW through April 2! @NASA is searching for our next explorers to train, fly, and go beyond for the benefit of humanity. We look forward to finding the next space pioneers who will venture further than ever before.

History is being made, and it’s happening on February 6. While it might not be trending yet, the Artemis II mission is the most significant leap in human spaceflight since the Apollo era. For the first time in more than five decades, four astronauts are preparing to leave Earth’s orbit to travel to the vicinity of the Moon. The Mission (Artemis II): This 10-day journey is a "proving ground". The crew Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen will not be landing on this trip. Instead, they will be testing the life-support, communication, and radiation-shielding systems of the Orion spacecraft while performing a lunar flyby. Breaking Records: The crew will travel roughly 400,000 km from Earth, surpassing the record distance reached by the Apollo 13 crew in 1970. This mission is the final green light needed before Artemis III the mission that will actually land humans on the lunar surface in 2027 or 2028. The astronauts are already in quarantine, the SLS rocket is on the pad, and the countdown is real. ✨ Why do you think a crewed mission to the Moon isn't dominating the news like it did in 1969? 👇 #universia #artemis2 #nasa #moonmission #spacehistory #exploration #orion #sls #astronomy #sciencefacts #stargazing #backtothemoon
