I thought I knew Singapore! Every time I’d visited, my feed and recommendations pointed me in the same direction: hawker centres, Michelin stars, night markets. All incredible… but this trip I realised that’s only part of the story. With the legends at @exceptionalalien and @visit_singapore, I decided to travel outside my algorithm and see a different side of the Lion City. I explored Pulau Ubin and some of Singapore’s surrounding islands, ate incredibly fresh seafood on a floating kelong, ran the Southern Ridges at sunrise, and even got up close with sharks at the Oceanarium. For someone who spends his life chasing flavours and stories, it was a reminder that the best travel happens when you step outside your usual lane. Singapore surprised me in the best way. If you’re heading there, don’t just stick to what your feed tells you. Get curious, explore a little further, and you’ll discover a whole different side of the city.
