1. Arriving at the airport with dirty shoes Australia is VERY strict about biosecurity. 2. Not wearing a helmet on a bike Even if you’re just going around the corner… fine. 3. Using your phone while driving Not texting. Not calling. Not even touching it. Yes… even at a red light. 4. Speeding (even a little) 3–5 km/h over = still a fine. No “it’s close enough” here. 5. Not tapping your card on public transport Inspectors do random checks… and the fine is NOT cheap. 6. Parking slightly wrong Wrong angle, expired meter, unclear sign… They will find you 😂 7. Drinking alcohol in public places Not every park/beach allows it. And yes… you can get fined for it. 8. Loud parties / noise complaints Neighbors WILL call… and it escalates quickly. It’s funny because Australia feels very relaxed… but at the same time, the system and everything works because of these rules. 🇦🇺 ❤️ Which one did you already know… and which one would’ve caught you off guard? 👀 [Australian humor, moving abroad, moving to Australia, life in Australia, Australian things]

Aussie rules player Mason Cox has mastered using his opponent’s back as a step ladder to launch himself into the air. Yes, it’s legal in footy. This move, called the “speccy,” humiliates your opponent, like getting dunked on in basketball or nutmegged in soccer.

Unbelievable, sensational and silly. 😂 No rules like Aussie rules. On 8 April 1985, during a VFL reserves game, John Bourke kicked Sydney ruckman Pat Foy in the groin in response to Foy tagging him throughout the game. When umpire Phil Waight attempted to report Bourke for the incident, Bourke shoved him to the ground and kicked him, and also made contact with a Collingwood runner who was attempting to take him off the ground before running into the stands to attack a Swans fan. The match was being broadcast on the Seven Network, with commentator Ray Jordon crying "You've gotta take the boy off!" as the incident unfolded. As a result, Bourke was handed a suspension of ten years, equivalent to 240 matches. It was later reduced to six years.
