If you have seen this #Viral video yes it was me. They were so nasty and rude to me at the Chanel Ready To Wear boutique on the third floor at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York. The crazy thing about it is that I walked into the store wearing items from their brand. I was extremely polite. I have been a Chanel customer since many many moons ago. However they need to stop disrespecting us as if our money isn’t needed in their stores. #Blackamericans has trillion dollar spending power. There are 2 million black American millionaires, 22 black American billionaires . I could have been #suzzanneshank sister for all they know 😂a black woman who is a private equity firm owner on #wallstreet or Robert Smiths little sister who is also a black American billionaire and owns a private equity firm. We have money as well. Money isn’t new to us. We had money even during segregation on blackwallstreet “We kept Saks open during Covid because we were the only ones doing the shopping and this came from one of their employees mouths. This series, 42nd and Vanderbilt, was created by Danish photographer Peter Funch between 2007 and 2016. For nine years, he stood at the exact same corner — 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue, just outside Grand Central Terminal — photographing commuters at the same minute each morning. What began as a simple observation slowly revealed something unsettling. When images taken years apart are placed side by side, the similarities are striking: someone yawning in the same spot, someone checking their phone at the same second, the same distant expression repeating nearly a decade later. Funch wasn’t just documenting strangers. He was documenting repetition. Routine. The quiet choreography of modern life. The project doesn’t accuse or dramatize. It simply shows how easily we fall into patterns, how what feels personal and unique may also be shared by thousands moving through the same system at the same time.
