👇 #AWS #CloudComputing #techhumor

Everyone loves to overcomplicate this… here’s the truth: If you want a £60k–£120k DevOps role, your roadmap is actually very straightforward. Not easy… but simple. 1️⃣ Linux Learn commands, permissions, processes, networking. If you don’t understand Linux… DevOps will punch you in the face later. 2️⃣ Git + GitHub/GitLab Branching, PRs, merge conflicts, workflows. This is your daily bread. 3️⃣ Networking CIDR, subnets, routing, DNS, load balancers. Kubernetes will eat you alive without this. 4️⃣ Cloud (AWS first) EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch. Just the fundamentals first – don’t chase 50 services. 5️⃣ Terraform IaC is non-negotiable. Build VPCs, EC2s, IAM, and automate everything. 6️⃣ Docker Images, containers, multi-stage builds, networking. Deploy small apps to learn. 7️⃣ CI/CD GitHub Actions or GitLab CI. Build → Test → Deploy → Repeat. 8️⃣ Kubernetes Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, Helm. This is where you start feeling like a real engineer. 9️⃣ Projects. Real ones. Deploy an app on AWS using Terraform. Containerise it. Add CI/CD. Add monitoring. Show that you can ship. DM me “DevOps” to get the full roadmap! #Tech #devops #coding #software #london

Just launched: Agent Toolkit for AWS Your coding agent is smart, but it’s working off training data, and AWS ships faster than any model can keep up with. I’ve watched agents skip the same critical step over and over when deploying Lambda behind API Gateway. They create the API, create the function, wire them together, and then... nothing talks to nothing. Because they missed the Add Permission step. Every time. Agent Toolkit for AWS gives your agent live docs (searched in real time, not baked into weights) and skills - tested runbooks for specific AWS tasks that include the steps agents consistently miss. It works through the Model Context Protocol, so it plugs into whatever agent you already use: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Kiro, Windsurf, Cline, or any MCP-compatible client. I made a video walking through the whole thing end to end - prompt to working endpoint in 2 minutes and 35 seconds. The bit I like: the agent loads a skill written for REST APIs, notices I asked for an HTTP API, and adapts. Structure from the skill, judgment from the model. Every API call lands in CloudTrail, and you can scope what agents are allowed to do with IAM condition keys. The toolkit is free. You pay for whatever AWS resources the agent creates. Give it a try, and tell me what you deploy with it! 👩🏻‍💻 Follow me (@brooke.bytes ) to stay in the loop with the latest AWS + AI updates for developers 📍 save + share! 🐈 This is a clear and conspicuous disclaimer that I am an AWS employee and all opinions are my own 🐈

[How I passed my first AWS certification] 👉 First: I studied with Zero To Mastery preparation course: it covers everything that you need to know to pass AWS exam. Most lessons are short so it wasn’t too overwhelming to study after my full-time Dev job. And I tried my best to stay consistent with studying: do one-two lessons but every day rather than not sleeping at night😁 🗒️ Second: I took notes of the key points for each lesson: maybe it’s just how my brain works but once I write something down by hand I almost never forget it 🤷‍♀️ 🏗️ The last one: I mainly focused on building practical skills rather than theory. For me the actual certification doesn’t mean much, I don’t need to have it in my CV. I wanted to actually learn AWS and get more skills in cloud development that I could apply at my everyday Dev job. Preparation for AWS exam course from @zerotomasteryio definitely helped me with that because it is a combination of theory and practical lessons. And I followed along with all demo lessons and actually set up and used the AWS services that I needed to learn for my exam. 👉 Getting hands-on experience with AWS is when you actually learn and prepare for your exam! -— These are the key points that I believe helped me to successfully pass my exam 💪 But follow the link in my bio to read a more detailed Medium post where I am sharing all links to the preparation resources I used and more about my experience 😉 . . . #learningtocode #programming #codingchallenge #lovecode #lovecoding #inspiration #motivation #progress #keepmoving #keepmovingforward #react #reactjs #coding #programming #womenintech #womenincoding #devlife #aws
