☀️🐍 Soaking up the sunshine with Baby the Black Headed Python 🐍☀️ BHP’s are one of the biggest snakes we can own here in WA, other than the gorgeous Olive Python (Liasis Olivaceus) there isn’t much in the way of competition. ⁉️DID YOU KNOW⁉️ 💥 BHP’s use their black head’s like a natural solar panel! Since they like to keep themselves hidden as much as possible. Wherever possible they will only poke their head out of their burrows and hides, their black head’s serve as the snakes natural solar panels and soak in the UV rays that they will then transfer to the rest of their body! ☀️ 💥 Some fully grown adults have been known to reach 3.5m! 🐍 💥 They are actually quite good climbers! I will never understand how anyone can find this face anything but cute. In my opinion, Ball Pythons have one of the cutest snake faces ever. She’s so precious. She’s just a baby. 🥺 Notice how she’s flicking her tongue out? Snakes are equipped with a special organ, located on the roof of their mouth called the Jacobson’s organ. Every time a snake flicks out their tongue, they’re grabbing different smells in the environment, pulling them back inside their mouths and plugging into that Jacobson’s organ, which then tells their brain what they’re smelling. It’s their way of navigating their environment.
