Opening day at the 12th Palmer Sculpture Biennial, and I’m incredibly grateful to be part of such an inspiring gathering of artists. Protector now stands in the landscape, looking out across the horizon. Visitors approach the sculpture from behind, slowly walking around it before discovering the view it holds over the land below. In the wind the copper tendrils move gently, occasionally touching and resonating with each other, a quiet presence sensing the air and landscape around it. This work explores ideas of awareness, grounding and quiet endurance. A presence that stands watch, listening and responding to the environment it inhabits. It’s a special feeling seeing something that began as sketches and maquettes in the workshop now standing out in the open land at Palmer. Protector Height: 2.1m Materials: carved timber head (jarrah core with stringybark outer skin), forged steel legs, copper tendrils and resin forms. Installed as part of the Palmer Sculpture Biennial 2026. #ScottHawkland #Movingforward #PalmerSculptureBiennial #Sculpture #LandscapeSculpture

Protector has taken its place in the landscape. After weeks in the studio testing balance, movement and form, it now stands out in the open paddock at Palmer, watching the horizon. The copper tendrils move gently with the wind, occasionally touching and resonating, a quiet presence sensing the land around it. Standing just over 2 metres tall, it shifts subtly with the elements, responding to wind, light and time. From a distance its silhouette sits lightly in the landscape, almost like another presence watching the plains. Installed for the upcoming Palmer Sculpture Biennial.

Clustermoon, 2025 Created at Freshwater West over two days, first day was blues and whites, second day was reds and yellows. Very enjoyable process playing with colour and the varied placement. Also, gotta love a moon 🌙 #landart #sculpture #stones #sculpttheworld

Jon Foreman is a land artist from Wales who builds large, mesmerizing formations using stones, sand, leaves, and driftwood gathered from nature. Each piece blends seamlessly with its environment, turning beaches and forests into open-air galleries. Designed to be temporary, his sculptures are eventually reshaped by wind and sea — a reminder that beauty can live in fleeting moments rather than permanence. Artist: @sculpttheworld

I’ve committed to submitting into more things this year an am so excited to have been selected for display at Himalayan Garden and sculpture park. As always, until I hand over the work and it is really, truly, physically accepted I won’t fully believe it, thanks brain. However, I will be travelling up to North Yorkshire in order to hand it over, so give me a shout if you have some time in a weekday Tue-Thurs for a cuppa! #sculpture #artist #hertford #tree #nature

Sukie from MA Sculpture went along to the unveiling of the a new work by our 2022 MA Sculpture graduate @samueldominguez, the winner of the Friends of Battersea Park and Royal College of Art Sculpture Award 2025 👏🎉 ‘Apparition’ is a new public artwork that will be on display until Autumn 2027 in #BatterseaPark. Samuel Dominguez’s work is a speculative genetic hybrid of Chilean and British tree species using moulds taken from real tree specimens from across the park. The sculpture was unveiled on Saturday 7 February in Battersea Park, as part of Wandsworth’s London Borough of Culture. And we got to find out what residents around our Battersea campus thought too ☺️ #Sculpture #Art

Beautiful afternoon @heavensculptureyard What an inspiring place, surrounded by such awesome sculpture and equally awesome creators. Everyone works off grid from ‘benders’. These stunning, low impact, non permanent structures are a showcase of human ingenuity. We had a lovely time chatting willow and hatching plans. Meanwhile the Universe worked it’s magic with some wonderful synchronicities. Then to top it all off, Tree gave me the most beautiful piece of art to say thank you for helping her move. It’s stunning! I will treasure it. I love Tree’s work. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ @treegilroy @heavensculptureyard @toriaoutdoors #chainsawsculpture #sculpture #sustainability #lowimpactliving #willow
