here is a HIGHLY requested quick tutorial on how to do the square bead stitch!!! 🍵 it's surprisingly intuitive once you understand the way you do one stitch. always follow your pattern and remember you'll go left then right then left then right and so on! to finish the piece it'll be pretty intuitive as well: just make a knot at the end and then before trimming the thread, stick the needle through a few neighboring beads to hide the tail and then trim. as for the loop at the top for the chain to pass through, i have not figured out the best way to do it so i'm not qualified to teach that. 🙂‍↕️ PLEASE check out Beadicted Girl Sonysree's "How to do Square Stitch" tutorial on YouTube (which i have mentioned in the caption of every post sharing my bead weaving journey) for a more comprehensive tutorial made by someone with much more experience in bead weaving and making tutorials :)

There are many ways to finish loom weaving. I usually tie knots but this time I want to sew a velvet ribbon to this necklace. So I can either hide each warp thread into the necklace which is a lot of work... Or try weaving a bit without beads, hide a thread and then tuck this end behind the beads. This was a story from earlier this week, but I wanted it to share it more broadly. My process is intentionally slow. Each sequin and bead is individually sewn on. The finished product is an accumulation of hours and weeks of labor. This is in stark contrast to how most of society forces us to operate where technology, speed, and production are prioritized over thoughtful, time intensive processes. . My process takes even longer if I don't have the right tools. I use a combination of Czech and Japanese beads. Usually, I find more uniformity in the Japanese beads. But Miyuki, you did something wrong with these Sky Blue Lines Crystal AB beads. Every 10 or so beads, the lining closes up the hole. If I force my needle, the whole bead splits and severs my thread. I have literally hundreds of colors and finishes of these beads and this is the only one that's ever given me an issue. LOL! All part of the process though.
