Yesterday we celebrated Steve’s retirement… and wow. 🥹 Watching person after person walk in just to say thank you, not just for selling them a car, but for being who he is, was something I’ll never forget. As many of you may have heard, Scott Harris will be retiring on April 1 after 45 years in the car business. Forty-five years of early mornings, long days, handshakes across desks, and relationships built one guest at a time. Over the decades, Scott has helped thousands of families find vehicles they could depend on. But more than that, he’s built friendships, mentored generations of employees, and helped shape the culture of the dealerships and the community around them. For many people in Ashland, Scott isn’t just the guy who sold them a car or sponsored a baseball team. He’s someone who has been part of their story for years. Before he officially hangs up the sales shoes, we wanted to take the time to slow down and let these long years breathe. So we sat down for a long, heartfelt conversation with Scott alongside two people who know him in a different way than most of us do — his oldest granddaughters, Ailah Harris and Liliana McCrory. Together they talk about the early days, the growth of the dealerships, the lessons learned over a lifetime in the business, and the family that has been behind it all. What came out of that conversation was something really special. A lot of memories, a lot of laughter, and a few emotional moments as Scott reflects on the people, the community, and the journey that has meant so much to him.
