Location details 🍂🏔️👇🏼 *these are not current conditions* Be sure to save this one for future planning 🗺️📌 & follow @ilariareed for more epic Colorado trails & adventures 🥾 📍The Maroon Bells in Aspen, Colorado This area requires a reservation ahead of time & those can be made on visitmaroonbells.com 💻 Parking reservations open on February 18th at 8am for dates between 5/15-7/31 and June 18th for reservation dates between 8/01-10/31. Personal vehicle or shuttle reservations are available— I recommend doing personal vehicle for sunrise (must arrive before 8am & leave by 4:30pm)! 🌄 The view in this video is accessible with just a short walk from the parking lot down a level path, although there are hiking trails throughout the area that give you even better views of the Bells— if you can believe it!! The Spring video was taken on 6/2/25 and the Fall video was taken on 9/28/25 for timing reference. Dogs are welcome on most trails in the area (excluding the scenic loop trail), but please please please clean up after them 💩 and keep them on a leash 🐕🦺 Visiting this location was such a “pinch me” moment. This place is only a 4 hour drive from my house. The fact that I live so close to something so magnificent… I’m just so grateful. Whether you live in Colorado or not, Maroon Bells absolutely has to go on your bucket list!! There’s a reason it’s one of the most photographed landscapes in the USA 🏔️📸 Have questions about visiting this wonder of a place? Feel free to DM me or drop em in the comments!

If you want to see Colorado at its best, roll the windows down and hit one of these drives. 🚗🍂 Follow @americantravelarchives for more hidden gems and bucket list adventures across the U.S. Colorado’s scenic byways are some of the most beautiful in the country, and each one feels like its own adventure. Whether you’re chasing fall colors, mountain peaks, or quiet alpine lakes, these are the drives you can’t skip: 🪙 Million Dollar Highway (US-550) – Arguably the most iconic drive in Colorado. It winds between Ouray and Silverton with hairpin turns, sheer cliffs, and jaw-dropping mountain views. No guardrails, no bad angles — just pure adrenaline and beauty. 🍁 Guanella Pass – A local favorite near Georgetown, this 22-mile drive climbs to 11,669 ft and explodes with golden aspens in September. Short hikes and overlooks make it a must for fall. 🏔 Trail Ridge Road (Rocky Mountain National Park) – The highest continuous paved road in the U.S. at 12,183 ft. You’ll drive above the treeline with 360° views of the Rockies — it feels like you’re on top of the world. 🌲 Old Fall River Road (RMNP) – A one-way dirt road built in 1920 that climbs up to Trail Ridge. It’s slow, narrow, and rugged — but the views, waterfalls, and wildlife make it worth every minute. Open only in summer and early fall. 🌄 West Elk Loop Scenic Byway – A lesser-known gem connecting Gunnison, Crested Butte, and Paonia. Expect canyons, lakes, and small mountain towns surrounded by forests that turn gold in autumn. ✨ Pro Tip: Fall is the best time to drive them all — late September through early October for peak color at different elevations. Which one would you drive first… the Million Dollar Highway or the peaceful Guanella Pass?

🍂 55 Miles of Gold Through the Rockies 🍂 Last fall. Peak to Peak Highway. Starting right here in Estes Park. Longs Peak in the distance. Golden aspens everywhere. And just like that… Colorado decided to show off. If you’ve never driven the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway in autumn, you’re missing something special. This isn’t just a drive. It’s 55 miles of: • Pull-over-and-stare views • Aspen tunnels glowing gold • Crisp mountain air • Postcard moments that don’t need a filter Fall is when this route comes alive. When the light hits just right. When the air feels different. When every curve feels cinematic. If you’re planning a trip to Estes Park this fall — put this drive on the list. Save this for autumn. Drop a 🍂 if Peak to Peak is on your bucket list. Tag your fall road trip crew.
