Best time to come to Maldives is November to September every year. @maldivetravelbooking #maldivestravelbooking #maldives #summerholidays 🏝️✈️

Thinking about the Maldives but not sure when to go? 🏝️ Here’s the simple lowdown 👇 ✨ It’s a year-round paradise with temperatures hovering around 30°C 🌦️ Weather patterns are changing globally, but here’s the general guide: ☀️ High & Dry Season | Oct – Apr Blue skies, calm seas and those postcard-perfect resort days 💰 Lower Season | Jul – Aug Up to half-price rates, fewer crowds and still plenty of sunshine between showers 🌤️ Transition Season | May – Jun A little more unpredictable, but often great value and beautifully lush The best time? It depends on whether you’re chasing guaranteed sunshine or amazing value and I can help you pick the perfect fit 💙 #MaldivesTravel #LuxuryEscape #IslandLife

If only there was an easy answer to this question...! 😅The weather in the Maldives is usually cut into 2 main seasons: the high season from November to April and the low season from May to October. Or at least, this used to be the case! Over the last 4/5 years, the weather has become extremely unpredictable in the Maldives, often offering some amazing summers (particularly August which has been amazing 4 years in a row) while some months of the high season, like January or February, are seeing increased chances of rain. Yet, one thing remains unchanged: the prices. You still pay a massive premium to travel to the Maldives in high season while the low season is significantly cheaper. Our recommendation remains the same: do give low season a chance! Yes, you may be unlucky and get some rain but this could also happen in February when you pay double the price... So better to have rain at half the price ;) Overall, the Maldives remains a VERY sunny destination all year long and getting several days of bad weather, while totally possible, remains very rare. This video was shot on 30th of November 2025 at Joali Being where the weather was a bit moody for several days. Very unusual for that time of the year... 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭? 🤔 It truly IS paradise…the photos and videos you see don’t lie! But there’s definitely a lot to consider before planning a trip there The rainy vs dry season is SO important. You don’t want to travel all that way and end up with a week of heavy rain! In general, the rainy season is mid-May through October, but it can shift by a week or two. Our first trip to the Maldives was the first week of May, and we had one day that was nothing but rain, but otherwise, the weather was beautiful There are hundreds of resorts to choose from, so be prepared to spend A LOT of time researching prices and amenities. Some offer all-inclusive, full board, and/or half board packages. If you’re booking with points, Marriott has the most options, followed by Hilton and IHG, and Hyatt has two resorts What you’re not going to avoid are the high fees for the transfers. If the resort is close to MLE, it’s not too bad to take a boat. But the farther away you get from the capital city, the more expensive it gets for the seaplane. Some resorts also have an option to take a domestic flight to a local island and then boat transfer to the resort The country has strict laws around alcohol and what can be worn, BUT those laws don’t apply to the resort islands. However, if you’re visiting a local island, that is something to keep in mind If you’re using points to fly there, you’ll want to plan WAY in advance or be creative with your routing. There’s a ton of demand - especially for premium cabins - with limited options, so the awards get booked up quickly. We highly recommend breaking up the journey! For example, we did: Louisville to DFW to Rome (4 days) Rome to Abu Dhabi to Maldives (6 days) Maldives to Singapore (2 days) Singapore to Tokyo to Chicago to Louisville Breaking it up like this gives you a better chance at finding the award availability, and since you’re already flying to the other side of the world, you might as well visit some other places along the way! There’s also high departure taxes from MLE. Expect to pay $100+ if flying economy and $250+ for premium cabins Questions? Ask below! ⬇️ #traveltips101 #maldivestravel #bucketlistdestinations

No! The Maldives during low season is not really that bad...unless you are very unlucky. Having spent more than 250 nights in the Maldives between May to October (considered as low season) we can count on our 2 hand fingers the number of days that actually looked like this. Low season does not necessarily mean bad weather in the Maldives. It means that the weather is unstable and can change super fast, when compared to high season which is way more stable and predictable. In this video shot at the end of August, it was actually big blue sky 1h later. And, overall, out of 250+ nights in low season, we had close to 85/90% of nice sunny days. So, is it worth going to the Maldives during low season? Absolutely! You'll get much lower rates and way less busy resorts. Yes, there is a risk of rain. Yes, you may not have the perfect February weather. But chances are, you will end up with mostly sunny days and a price 50% lower than Peak season. Planning a Maldives trip? Here are 3 mistakes travellers often make when booking: 🏝️ Choosing the wrong resort island Every Maldives resort is its own private island and each one offers a completely different experience. ☀️ Booking the wrong villa type Beach villas, overwater villas, sunset villas and private pool villas all feel very different. 🚤 Forgetting about transfer costs Many resorts require a seaplane, speedboat transfer or both, which can add to the overall trip cost. ✨ The Maldives is incredible when you do it properly. 🚫 10 Mistakes to Avoid When Booking the Maldives (Save this before you book 🏝️) ❌ Staying too short The Maldives is a long journey. Less than 7 nights = rushed, jet-lagged, and not worth it. ❌ Not thinking about transfers Speedboat, seaplane or domestic flight? The wrong choice can eat into precious holiday time. ❌ Assuming you can island-hop It’s usually one island, one resort. Moving around costs time and money. ❌ Ignoring island size Some islands feel private and peaceful. Others feel busy. Photos don’t tell the full story. ❌ Not checking if the island is natural Natural islands = lush greenery + better beaches. Man-made islands feel very different. ❌ Overlooking the house reef Not every resort has great snorkelling. This matters more than people realise. ❌ Skipping overwater villas completely They’re iconic for a reason — and often the highlight of the trip. ❌ Choosing the wrong resort for your travel style Honeymoon, family, luxury chill or active? One size definitely doesn’t fit all. ❌ Underestimating food & drink costs Everything is imported — all-inclusive can save a lot. ❌ Assuming every island is picture-perfect Some have sea walls and average beaches. Research matters. ✨ Want the Maldives done right the first time? The Maldives is incredible but only if you avoid these mistakes. Here’s what can quietly ruin the experience 👇 1️⃣ 🏝️ Assuming all islands are beautiful Some resorts are built on artificial islands or rely heavily on seawalls and groynes, which can completely change the look and feel. 2️⃣ 🤿 Expecting great snorkeling everywhere Being in the Maldives does not guarantee a house reef. Some resorts are phenomenal, others have none at all. 3️⃣ ✈️ Choosing long transfers for short stays Seaplanes and domestic flights often involve waiting and logistics. For stays under 5 nights, they can eat up a huge part of your trip. 4️⃣ 🍽️ Underestimating food and drink prices Everything is imported and there is no competition. Prices add up very fast if you don’t plan properly. 5️⃣ 🍹 Misunderstanding all-inclusive Many all-inclusive plans limit restaurants, drinks and almost never include spas or activities. Always check the details. 6️⃣ 👨👩👧👦 Booking the wrong atmosphere Some resorts are very family focused, others are calm and adults oriented. Choosing the wrong vibe changes everything. 7️⃣ 🌦️ Avoiding low season by default Low season weather has been surprisingly good in recent years, often with much better value. 8️⃣ 👨💼 Ignoring service quality Staff to guest ratio, personalisation and attention to detail matter more than design or price.
