If only there was an easy answer to this question...! 😅The weather in the Maldives is usually cut into 2 main seasons: the high season from November to April and the low season from May to October. Or at least, this used to be the case! Over the last 4/5 years, the weather has become extremely unpredictable in the Maldives, often offering some amazing summers (particularly August which has been amazing 4 years in a row) while some months of the high season, like January or February, are seeing increased chances of rain. Yet, one thing remains unchanged: the prices. You still pay a massive premium to travel to the Maldives in high season while the low season is significantly cheaper. Our recommendation remains the same: do give low season a chance! Yes, you may be unlucky and get some rain but this could also happen in February when you pay double the price... So better to have rain at half the price ;) Overall, the Maldives remains a VERY sunny destination all year long and getting several days of bad weather, while totally possible, remains very rare. This video was shot on 30th of November 2025 at Joali Being where the weather was a bit moody for several days. Very unusual for that time of the year... Almost everyday, people ask us what's the worst month to travel to the Maldives, and the answer might surprise you! 🤔 There is no month that you should absolutely avoid in the Maldives...or not anymore! For years, the Maldives optimal travel period was split very clearly into two seasons, high season from November to April and low season from May to October. The idea was simple, dry weather equals high prices, wetter weather equals better deals. But over the last few years, this logic has slowly stopped making sense. Some so called “rainy” months have delivered weeks of sunshine, while classic high season months like January or February have seen more unstable conditions than usual. What really hasn’t changed is pricing. Travelling in high season still comes with a very big premium, even though the weather advantage is no longer guaranteed. Low season, on the other hand, offers much better value, with the exact same resorts, the same beaches and often very similar weather. The reality is this, if you can accept the possibility of a short tropical shower, there is no month you truly need to avoid. The Maldives remains a very sunny destination all year long, and long stretches of bad weather are still rare. They can happen, but chances are low. The worst mistake is not choosing the “wrong” month, it is overpaying for the illusion of guaranteed sunshine. This video was filmed during a period that was supposed to be high season on paper (end of November 2025), yet the conditions were far from what people expect when they hear “high season”. Conclusion: do give low season a chance! There’s no month you truly need to avoid anymore 🤔 Seasons used to be clear — dry meant expensive, rainy meant cheaper — but lately that pattern doesn’t always hold. Some “rainy” months bring sunshine, while classic high-season periods like January or February can be more unstable. Prices, however, stay high 💸 — even when perfect weather isn’t guaranteed. Low season often offers the same resorts, beaches and similar conditions for much better value. This video was filmed in January 2025 📅 — we stayed 12 nights around New Year, the priciest and supposedly driest period… yet we only had 2–3 fully sunny days and rain on most others 🌧️ Conclusion: don’t overpay for the illusion of guaranteed sunshine ☀️✨ #maldives #besttimetovisitmaldives #maldivestravel

Have you ever seen this side of the Maldives 😬 We shot this on the capital island of the Maldives, Male. And Hulhumale, which is the airport island. These two islands are next to each other and filled with skyscrapers, and a bit of rubbish if we’re honest. We’ve been the Maldives lots of times, and it’s always best to head straight out to the resort islands - which are absolute paradise. This is a side of the Maldives few people realise. #maldives #maldivesislands #male
