As a mom and an educator, I truly believe loose parts are one of the greatest gifts we can offer children 🤍 When children play with loose parts; stones, shells, wooden pieces, fabrics, boxes; they are not told what to do. They are invited to think, imagine, test, negotiate, and create. One day it’s a road, the next it’s a home, a story, a solution. Loose parts grow with the child. They support creativity, problem-solving, motor skills, language, collaboration, and emotional expression; all at the same time. There’s no right or wrong, only discovery. I see children feel powerful when they realize: “I can transform this.” “My idea matters.” And that, to me, is real learning. 🌱

• Tape the Dots • . A simple craft activity for kids that love using tape! Their goal was to use the dot markers and space two dots apart, then join them with tape. Pretend play is a favorite over here. Even my twins still get into it and I secretly love that so much. This time we made a DIY cardboard cash register using Makedo tools and ended up with our own little grocery store. Little Miss got to practice her numbers too without even realizing it.
