Yes, the most expensive habitat I have is $499, and that *is* a lot of money. But it still costs me less than growing through lots of different enclosures, and upsetting my reptile by disrupting their home over and over. But for my Vietnamese Blue Beauty snake, I couldn’t be happier. Because he has gone from tiny plastic container, to a 40 gallon glass tank (with reflective sides, and poor heat retention) to a minimalistic pet store setup, and now to a stunning and enriching 4x2x4 PVC panel enclosure. No more freaky reflections, better heat, better humidty, and more room for activities. Better yet - this is the Zen Habitats 3.0, and it’s expandable, so if I want to increase his space again, I can without turning his world upside down. He’s finally the calmest he has ever been. Suddenly, that $499 doesn’t seem so much when I consider that he’s probably all set for the next 15 years. That’s about $0.09 a day. Friday is my scheduled manual misting day for Abronia. I manually mist twice a week to make sure all the plants are happy despite every enclosure being on an automatic mister, but on Fridays, I take the time to flush all of the plants they use for drinking. This helps clear debris and drinking water fresh. This is a standard part of care for species that utilize their environment. Also massive thank you to Ryan Turnquist for this epic misting system. I've been wishing for a system I could control from my phone for a long time. Additional to that, now I have every enclosure on one pump (I previously needed two) -and- it has a pressurized misting wand. This isn't even half of the perks to the systems Ryan offers but I had to start small while I'm saving for the remainder baby condos and supplies. The reptiles got a foraging tank for Christmas 🎄🦎 We added this @ekullaglobal tank to the floor so it’s easy to access during roaming time, and Samson is very into it. It has multiple modes you can switch between for growing plants or supporting reptiles, plus built-in lighting, heat, and ventilation to keep everything thriving.
