Here are two easy tips for styling a monochromatic outfit:

Here are two easy tips for styling a monochromatic outfit: 1️⃣Use two contrasting shades of the same color, one light and one dark (for example: bright pink pants, light pink top) 2️⃣Use accessories as your contrasting color. Belts, necklaces, shoes, hats, scarfs - anything that directly lays against, next to, or break up the main color. (I went super simple here with neutral/brown accessories, but could’ve easily amped up the fun with some light pink, turquoise, or a wine red) I went super wearable with a khaki/olive green - but if you’re into the monochromatic look, let me know and we can play with some bolder colors. 🌈

📌 If you love high-contrast outfits, this is the trap👇🏼 ⠀ 🟥 ⬛️ When you split two strong colors perfectly 50/50, especially in classic, basic cuts, the look can start to feel a bit dated and too coordinated. ⠀ ⠀ 👉🏼The fix: ⠀ 1️⃣ add light near the face. I know it sounds obvious … and yes, I’ve said it a thousand times …. but this really brightens up the portrait zone and instantly makes the look feel more modern. ⠀ 2️⃣ bring in a neutral to soften the contrast (grey in my case, but beige works too) ⠀ 3️⃣ use texture to add depth and make the outfit feel effortless, not “styled” ⠀ ❤️Same base. Totally different energy. ⠀ ⠀ And I know you’ll be asking so comment 👉🏼SHOP👈🏼 to receive a DM with the links to my looks (both of them) 🔗 https://liketk.it/5QQsB ⠀ ⠀ Sincerely yours, Ellena 🧡

If you’ve been told these two colours “don’t go together”, ….ermmm you need to unlearn that immediately! Here’s how to make sure your brown and black outfits look intentional (not accidental) - Keep the brown tones warm. Think dark chocolate, espresso, tan - Let one colour lead and the other support (notice my entire base is black?) - Add texture (leather, wool, suede) to soften the contrast (suede loafers / leather shopper) - Finish with gold jewellery, as it’s a warmer toned metal and this will pull everything together. Black adds structure. The Brown adds warmth. Together, they’re the perfect power couple. Also… @newlook needs a round of applause for giving us the perfect Maebe dupe. Here’s the truth about wearing black…⬇️ I’m an Autumn & have a warm undertone. But, I LOVE wearing black & always will. So here’s how I warm it up, so that it suits my colouring: 1️⃣ I wear gold Jewellery to balance out the cool black tones 2️⃣ I pair black with my camel trench to warm up my whole outfit 3️⃣ I add a peachy lip colour to bring out the warmer tones in my skin 4️⃣ I wear my hair down to bring the caramel tones down onto the black & soften the look 5️⃣ I go for a lower neckline to keep some skin between my face & the black, this softens the look Remember even as a Colour Analyst, too many rules can be limiting & black is part of my style DNA. Have fun with colour & wear black if you want to, whatever your season. Just use a few tricks to balance it out if you do have a warmer undertone, give it a try…it’s magic 💫 Jumpsuit @insidejigsaw Trench @frame Necklace @missomalondon Bag @ysl Colour Analysis Personal Styling Personal Shopping Wardrobe Management Style Events

Black ≠ best for most people 🙅🏻‍♀️🖤 It often overpowers instead of flatters. The real glow-up happens when you find your ‘better than black’ neutrals and wear them with intention ✨ We tend to default to black because we don’t know our colors. Think tools, not rules! Brown, taupe, gray, navy… the right neutral makes YOU the focus, not your outfit. 🤍🤎🩶 Want to find yours? DM to book and bloom! 💐

Your colors don’t match? Try this 3-step harmony trick. 🎨 1️⃣ Stick to one temperature Keep your tones either all warm (camel, brown, gold) or all cool (grey, navy, silver). Mixing both can throw the look off. 🎨 2️⃣ Use one anchor color Start with a neutral base — black, beige, or ivory — then build around it with 1–2 accent shades for balance. 🎨 3️⃣ Repeat your tones Echo the same color at least twice in your outfit — like camel in your coat and scarf — it makes the whole look feel pulled together. 💬 Like this tip?
