A lot of people who are just getting into bookbinding ask which method is better, cardstock hinge (bradel binding) or gluing directly on the bookcloth. Neither method is better, but you may prefer one over the other so I always tell people to try both and decide for yourself. Neither method is more “correct” than the other and it gives me the ick when binders start using words like that because it’s inadvertently diminishing the work of other binders. Personal preference does not = better. #bookbinding #bookbinder
