It’s true coding is not an easy major at all! But what is true is the the pay off, you may not always feel motivated to code. I’m a full time computer science student as well as someone who decided to pay for a part time coding boot camp. Ik it sounds crazy but even though my major was in computer science I still felt like I wasn’t good enough. So I went part time in a coding bootcamp to further help me learn to code. But let me tell you this journey is tough and coding is still very hard. He’s an experienced bootcamp instructor and has a relaxed informal approach to explaning things. Mike Dane - FreeCodeCamp, my first ever tutorial was with him, and I still remember sitting down in a coffee shop to watch the ‘Learn HTML’ course, and realising it was actually not as hard as I imagined. Abdul Bari - helped me go deeper into DS&A’s and understand the concepts and theory of computer science, and to be able to talk freely about time/space complexity. 🐐 Net Ninja - his JavaScript course on Udemy is the best course I’ve ever done and was the first long form course I did. He’s also from Manchester, and loved his chilled teaching style. For those of you looking for alternative options to an expensive coding bootcamp or even if you want to just try out learning programming and don’t want to pay for any courses when you first try it out, this is an amazing resource. The App Academy Open Curriculum is completely free and includes Full-Stack JavaScript Web Development, DSA, Python, SQL, and much more. Sometimes we need a payed program to push us towards are goals, but with dedication and discipline this course can get you quite far. There are projects, video lessons, and exercises. A study from CIRR shows that approximately 71% of coding bootcamp graduates land job placements. Nowadays everyone is scared because a some tech layoffs. The council on integrity in results has some crazy information for you. Your tech career and that dream you want isn’t that far out of reach. All you really need to do is apply yourself and you can do it. It’s how I’m able to travel the world and work remotely. It’s because I blurred out the noise of all the fear mongers saying it’s not possible and there are no jobs available anymore. Studies just prove that to be false. If you can’t do 4 years of college take the coding bootcamp route and start that career.
