Bricklay sectioning is one of those small details that makes a huge difference in the finished look. Instead of stacking curls directly on top of each other, each section is offset so the pattern doesn’t line up. That offset is what keeps curls from clumping together in the back. When the sections drop, they naturally sit together instead of separating into chunky lines or odd parting. I’m using my 2” barrel from @hottoolspro to create this bouncy blowout look!

If your curls keeps starting at the mid-lengths instead of starting high … it’s not the brush👀 When heat breaks hydrogen bonds inside the hair, they reset as the hair cools. Wherever the barrel is positioned during that reset… is where the curl will form. Barrel drops = curl drops. Barrel tight + elevated = root lift, shape and longevity. Most people remove their pin curls far too early. Hair may feel cool on the outside… but internally it’s still stabilising.
