Bridging with Pilates ball 🍑 Quick but not easy (~4 min): 30 seconds normal bridge 30 seconds adding 2 pulses on ball at top *hold at top* 15 seconds pulses on the ball 15 seconds pulsing hips 1 inch up & down *reset, place ball behind right knee 45 seconds single leg brige on left *hold at top* 15 seconds pulse right leg in & out on ball 15 seconds pulse hips up & down *reset, place ball behind left knee 45 seconds single leg brige on right *hold at top* 15 seconds pulse left leg in & out on ball 15 seconds pulse hips up & down Stretch 🫶🏼 Some tips: + start with ball in between thighs just a few inches above knees + roll your spine up and down one vertebra at a time like you are picking up and putting down a strand of pearls (my favorite visualization)🤩 + if you feel any pain or tension in your lower back, limit your range of motion, don’t send you hips up as high + your core is should be engaged throughout this entire series to protect your lower back + this can be done with or without ankle weights 👍🏼 #matpilates #pilatesball #pilatesinstructor #pilatesbridging #bridging

I’ve mentioned this before. But i love to give a little prequel of what our bridge sequence is going to look like in our foot work when teaching contemporary classes. Here’s a footwork and bridging from today’s classes.
