This is how to remove a bolt that broke off at a angle. This seats the sharp flutes into the softer metal of the bolt. ​The Removal (0:30): Using an impact wrench, the tool is turned counter-clockwise. Because of the reverse spiral, turning it "loose" actually forces the tool to dig deeper and tighter into the bolt.
