It’s so long you can actually get a train to the end or take a leisurely 25 minute stroll. Along the way if you are lucky you can even see some incredible wildlife! We spotted birds, fish and even dolphins 🐬 But the best part is when reach the end of the jetty there’s an underwater observatory & museum where you can walk down the spiral staircase and view what’s underneath the pier! The pillars are covered in coral and there’s so many fishies swimming around! If you’re visiting Perth, make time for Busselton 🌞 About 2.5 hours south and it’s a completely different pace, calm turquoise water, long beach days, and the iconic Busselton Jetty stretching out over the bay (it’s actually the longest timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere). 🦘 LOCAL KANGAROO HAILED A HERO IN BUSSELTON 🦘 A Busselton kangaroo is being dubbed an unlikely hero after reportedly preventing what could have been a serious collision involving electric bikes and passing vehicles. 🚲🚗 Witnesses say the roo suddenly bounded across the road, causing riders and drivers to slow sharply just moments before two e-bikes approached an intersection at speed. What initially looked like chaos may have unintentionally forced traffic to reduce speed — potentially avoiding a far worse outcome. Locals described the scene as “heart-in-mouth stuff,” with some calling the kangaroo’s timing unbelievable. While wildlife on WA roads is usually seen as a hazard, in this case it may have been the reason everyone walked away safely. NOT THE GOOSE! 😲🔥 Iconic Busselton bar and restaurant The Goose gutted by fire this morning. Busselton Mayor Grant Henley saw the blaze and says it's devastating for the owners and the community. "I've just spoken to the business owner who's come down here, he's obviously devastated it's his pride and joy," he said. "We certainly feel for them, it's an iconic part of the foreshore and it's going to take some time to rebuild and that's very sad for all concerned." The owner said the bar and restaurant would be closed for the foreseeable future.
