Starting calligraphy as a beginner ✍️ BASIC STROKES (part 3) A huge mistake new calligraphers make is skipping directly to writing letters. You NEED to start by learning the eight basic calligraphy strokes I share in this video. THE GIST 👉 concentrate on putting LIGHT pressure when your pen is moving in an upwards direction (upstroke) and HARD pressure when your pen is moving in a downwards direction (downstroke). That’s the basis of calligraphy which will help you turn these squiggles (aka brush strokes lol) into LETTERS! 😍 So if you want to learn calligraphy, learn and practice these obsessively... like, rows and rows and ROWS of each.
