These are soooooo good! Got left over olive brine, or pickle juice? Just toss a peeled hard boiled egg, or if you have a bigger jar pack it with as many eggs fit into the juice. Make sure eggs are submerged fully and place in the fridge for a couple days. Then you’ve got a briney, salty, delicious protein-filled snack! I also recommend doing this with a little soy sauce, chili garlic paste and sesame oil for the chef’s kiss! Pssst! *whispers* You can also reuse the brine with a new batch of eggs!

Approximately 83 eggs. All the colors of the rainbow. All the flavors. All the vinegar fumes in my kitchen. Just a farm girl, a rainbow of shells, a whole lot of brine, and a tried and true “rebel” canning recipe. #rebelcanning #eggsfordays #pickledeggs #refridgeratorpickles #canning

Egg prices said 📈… so I said bet. If they’re going up exponentially, I’m going back to basics 🥚✨ Making my own pickled eggs from scratch just makes sense — simple ingredients, bold flavor, and a jar full of protein that’ll last. Inflation won’t stop this kitchen 💪🏽🔥 Homemade > overpriced. Always. #pickledeggs #fromscratchcooking #homesteadvibes #budgetfriendlymeals #foodpreservation

I keep these simple! Boil eggs for 3 minutes (add a dab of baking soda and vinegar), place in a quart sized mason jar after rinsing with cool water. Shake! Shake! Shake! Then peel 🫣. I retain the juice from pickles and use that just give them about 10 days to marinate. We do not own quail anymore, but we do enjoy these occasionally. Locally grown 😜 always better!

Now that we have eggs again from our chickens, we are finding ways to get them used up. Baking, fresh pasta (coming soon), hard boiled eggs etc. The easiest way I have found to make hard boiled eggs is in my instant pot and do the 5-5-5 method. 5 minutes pressure cook, 5 minutes natural release, 5 minutes ice bath. They always peel so nicely! Tell me what your favorite way is to use up eggs? #eggs #hardboiledegg #chickens #instantpot #homestead

Water glass eggs— 1. Clean from the coop eggs (no wiping, scrubbing, etc—nothing that will remove the bloom) 2. Clean jar. 3. Fill clean, dry jar with clean, dry eggs. 4. Add 2 TB pickling lime. 5. Fill wait water and close lid finger tight. These will keep fresh for a year or more. #pineridgefarm #chickenfarmer #farmlife

Want to preserve your eggs for up to a year? Yeah, me too!!!!🤪 This method is called water glassing. Place clean, unwashed, farm-fresh eggs (the bloom needs to be intact) into a glass jar. Store bought eggs will not work for this. Mix 1 ounce of pickling lime with 1 quart of distilled water. Stir until incorporated. Pour the solution over the eggs until they’re fully covered. Seal with a lid and store in a cool dark place. When you’re ready to use them just rinse and crack like normal and go about your business. Thankful for my hard working ladies. Now I wish I would have counted how many eggs I have in here🤣🥚🐓🐔 . **I dont own the rights to this music** #chickens #eggs #preservingfood #farmfresh

Water glassing eggs is one of those simple, traditional skills that helps extend abundance when eggs are readily available, giving you the peace of mind to know you always have this staple food on hand. Fresh, unwashed eggs stored in a lime solution can last for many months, and sometimes longer depending on conditions. Here’s the simple process: 🥚 Use fresh, unwashed farm eggs (the natural bloom must be intact, & eggs must not be cracked). 🥣 Mix 1 quart of filtered water with 1 ounce (about 2 tablespoons) of food-grade pickling lime. 🫙 Gently place eggs pointy side down into a clean glass jar. 💧 Pour the lime water over the eggs until fully submerged. 🌑 Store covered in a cool, dark place. When you’re ready to use them, rinse before cracking and use like a normal egg. For full transparency, I used mine right before the two-year mark and they were still great. The only difference I noticed was that the yolks were more fragile or already broken in the shell, which is normal with long storage. 🥚 Reminder: always check eggs individually when using long-stored food - storage conditions matter, and results can vary. Sometimes the most valuable skills are the simple ones that support you all year long, through all the seasons. 👉🏼 Follow @thebrightersideoflifeblog for soft-life systems, real-world skills, practical preparedness, and feminine energy ✨ #waterglassingeggs #eggpreservation #foodpreservation #traditionalskills #oldfashionedskills modernhomestead simplepreparedness practicalpreparedness realworldskills homesteadlife backtobasics foodsecurity preparedliving selfreliantliving homesteadinglife farmfreshfood farmfresheggs fromscratchliving intentionalhomemaking softlifesystems calmhome seasonalliving slowfamilylife capablewomen modernhomemaker thebrightersideoflife

We had a surplus of eggs so why not preserve them? I used the water glassing method using clean but unwashed eggs with pickling lime in an air tight jar. They will be good for up to 18 months. Have you ever preserved eggs? #Eggs #chickenmom #homesteadlife #homesteading #prepper

You will have the best jammy eggs every time if you follow this easy method for soft boiled eggs. My kids request these every week, which is why I have to buy 4 dozen eggs from the farmers market each Saturday. Easy protein snack, and nature’s multivitamin. 👩‍🍳 Kitchen Tip: Try steaming your eggs vs boiling them! I’ve been using this method lately and it makes a huge difference when peeling them. Here’s how to get perfectly cooked & easy to peel eggs every time: 💧Add some water to a pot then drop in a steamer basket or trivet 🥚 Pile in your eggs—I’ve done chicken, quail, and duck all with this method-the only difference is how long you steam. 🔥 Turn up the heat! I set the burner to medium high and put the lid on ⏲️ Let it steam. 9 minutes for quail eggs, 12-13 minutes for chicken eggs, and 13-14 min for duck eggs. This keeps the yolk just cooked without overcooking. 🧊 After the steam put them directly into an ice bath for 5 minutes 🤫 Here’s the secret to perfectly peeled eggs—peel them under the water! ❄️ Wipe off excess water and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator Voila! Perfectly boiled eggs with out the boil. Let me know if you try this out. 🤌🏻 #farmfresheggs #pastureraised #eggs #tipsandtricks #lsmo
