Here’s a quick candle-making tutorial with specific temperatures if you want to try DIY candles at home. 😊 1. Melt the Wax Use a double boiler or a wax melter. Heat the wax to 185°F (85°C)—this ensures proper melting and binding with fragrance. 2. Add Fragrance Oil Remove wax from heat and let it cool to 175-185°F (79-85°C) before adding fragrance oil. Stir slowly for 1-2 minutes to ensure even distribution. Typical fragrance load: 6-10% (e.g., for 1 lb of wax, use 1 oz of fragrance). 3. Prep Containers & Wicks While wax cools, secure wicks with wick stickers or hot glue. Use wick holders to keep them centered. 4. Pour the Wax Ideal pouring temp: 135-145°F (57-63°C) for most waxes. Pour slowly to reduce air bubbles. 5. Cure & Trim Let candles sit undisturbed at room temp for at least 24 hours (soy needs 1-2 weeks for best scent throw). Trim wicks to ¼ inch before lighting. ✨ DIY Flower Candle Tutorial ✨ For this candle, I used a wick made for 80mm jars (that’s about 3.15 inches wide) — my jars are 5cm high (≈2 inches) and 9cm wide (≈3.5 inches). I use 100% soy wax, and the pouring temperature is super important! 🌿 👉 Pour your wax at 131°F (55°C) to prevent frosting. 🔥 Always preheat your glass jars — I personally prefer using the oven instead of a heat gun for a more even result. 🌸 Don’t forget to preheat your silicone molds, too! Once poured, the wax flowers can be easily removed after about 2 hours. To add those golden details, I use a Candle Pen made specifically for decorating candles. For the labels, I use the NIIMBOT B1 printer with 50mm x 30mm (1.96” x 1.18”) heat-resistant thermal stickers.
