Coining, also known as cao gio in Southeast Asia or gua sha in China, is a traditional alternative medicine technique that involves rubbing a coin or other rounded object over the skin to relieve pain. The practice is believed to release “bad wind” from the body by bringing blood to the surface. Coining is commonly used to treat minor illnesses like headaches, fevers, and colds, as well as chronic pain, muscular pain, and respiratory conditions (Copy and paste from google) it looks painful, but oh boy it took my neck pain away the very next day ! if you ask me, It’s better than cupping/ventosa. I don’t mind looking like hot Cheetos for days 😝if it means I’m pain free .
