My honest thoughts on Cape Town...I really wanted to love it here, but ultimately I didn’t. This city is still heavily impacted by apartheid with a deep rooted racial imbalance that’s evident throughout the city. As a tourist, you can largely avoid recognizing the discrepancy but that doesn’t mean that we should. While I did visit the townships to get a better glimpse of what life is really like for so many Cape Town residents, most of my trip was spent in what felt like a resort - a perfectly curated area where everyone is trying their best not to look outside of the resort grounds to face what’s really going on in the city. . . . #capetown #solotravel #southafrica #solofemaletraveler #visitcapetown

Maiden’s Cove 🌊 Beautiful ocean views without the crowds (perfect to start or end your day). 2. Boulders Beach (African Penguins!) 🐧 You can walk right onto boardwalks and see African penguins up close. It’s one of the rare spots you’ll see them in the wild.  3. Aquila Safari for the Big 5 🦁 If you want a safari without leaving Cape Town for days, this one delivers lions, elephants, rhinos… it’s an easy day trip. 4. Cape Town Helicopter Ride 🚁 View Table Mountain, the coastline, beaches, and city from above. 5. Paragliding off Signal Hill 🪂 Fly tandem with a pro over the Cape coastline. It’s an unforgettable experience. 6. Atlantis Dunes (Quad Biking) 🏜️ Huge sandy playground just outside the city where you can quad bike in the wild. 7. Bo-Kaap 🌈 This is more than colourful houses, it’s a neighbourhood with deep history and spice-rich Cape Malay culture. Do a short walk and stop for a bite. 8. Oranjezicht Farmers Market 🥐 Fresh local food, bakes, juices, and Cape vibes. Sat 8:00–14:00, Sun 8:30–14:00, Wed Night Market 16:00–21:00 9. Lion’s Head at Sunrise 🥾🌅 The hike is iconic and quick for the view (sunrise here hits different). 10. Table Mountain (Cable Car or Hike) ⛰️ Whether you hike or take the cable car, the panoramic views from the top are epic. Tickets are good for 7 days, so plan around weather.  11. Franschhoek Wine Tram 🍷 Hit multiple wineries in a relaxed way. It is perfect for a full day out in the winelands. 12.
