this one’s for my all-nighters 🥸 if you still can’t wrap your head around the connection between bijections and cardinality, say you’ve gotta set a table of four. that means you need four plates and four spoons, right? what your brain does is instantly pairs a spoon to a plate. in other words, for every plate you’ve got, there must be a spoon as well. we operate with the same principle with bijections and cardinality. if i can pair every single number in one set to a distinct number in another set, the cardinality of both sets is equal. it’s said that this idea of pairing objects existed even prior to our traditional counting methods, isn’t that fascinating? gotta lock in on cs tmrw, got my final exam on fri ✅ #study #viral #education #math #university #advice #studyhelp #exam #cs

In this video, we show the general sum principle for sets (the formula for the cardinality of A union B). The key feature is that if the sets intersect, then we have to account for elements that may have been double counted. From the point labeled 0 the number world expands in many directions. We start with natural numbers (1, 2, 3…) that count objects, extend to integers (…, −2, −1, 0, 1, 2, …) which include negatives, and then to rational numbers — fractions formed by ratios of integers — which fill the number line more densely. Beyond rationals lie the irrational numbers (like √2 and π) that cannot be written as a simple fraction; together rationals and irrationals make the real numbers, a continuous line of values. Mathematicians classify sizes of infinities: the set of natural numbers is infinite but “countable” (you can list them one by one). The real numbers form a larger, “uncountable” infinity — there are strictly more real numbers than natural numbers. Set theory gives names (like ℵ₀ (aleph-null) for countable infinity) and studies these different cardinalities. The phrase “absolute infinity” is used by some thinkers to describe an ultimate, all-encompassing infinity beyond formal cardinals — a philosophical or metaphysical idea rather than a routine mathematical object. In practical mathematics we work with precise concepts (limits, cardinality, ordinals, extended real numbers) to handle very large sizes, infinite sequences, and notions such as limits approaching zero or growing without bound. Understanding the journey from zero to “absolute infinity” means appreciating both the familiar number types (natural, integer, rational, real) and the deeper ideas that measure and compare different infinities. It links concrete arithmetic, continuous analysis, and abstract set theory — showing how simple counting grows into profound concepts about size, order, and the infinite. #mathematics #numbers #zero #infinity #alephnull #continuum #settheory #realnumbers #integers #rationals #irrationals #cardinality #countable #uncountable #ordinals #limits #numberline #maths #mathematicseducation #mathconcepts #infinite #philosophyofmath

Beyond Counting: Are there different Types of Infinity in Mathematics Infinity is a fascinating concept, but did you know that there are different types of infinity in mathematics? In this video, we explore the various levels of infinity and delve into the mind-bending world of infinite sets, cardinality, and more. You’ll discover that there’s more to infinity than meets the eye, and you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty and complexity of math. #infinity #mathematics #cardinality #settheory #countableinfinity #uncountableinfinity #transfinite #mathnerd #mathisfun #mathlove #mathlife #mathskills #mathematical #mathconcepts #mathexplorer #studygram #teacher #algebra #math #mathteacher #geometry #school #highschool #college #sat #fun #trick #mathhack #hack #reels

Math skills, just like language skills, not only take time to build but also depend on children’s development. We can’t force our children to be ready to learn and master concepts until they’re developmentally ready, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do anything to help them get there. That’s why consistent exposure and patience (lots of it) are key in supporting our kids! Watching this video definitely brought up some #generationaltrauma (#thisiswhyihatemath #iykyk) But, I now understand as a mom, that our parents were trying their best the way they knew how. Studies show when the brain’s amygdala is activated, it’s in fight-or-flight mode. It physically cannot access the part of the brain used for logical reasoning - necessary for learning. In this mode, the brain is just trying to keep us alive. Hence, this is where patience comes into play. If we can remember it takes time for our children to grow and acquire various skills, perhaps it’ll help us be more patient with them. In turn, they can calmly listen to our coaching, allowing them to access the part of the brain needed to acquire the content/skills. I’m no perfect human being, parent or teacher! My patience gets tested, too. But, I will say being a teacher of 13 years in the primary grades has given me plenty of opportunities to practice and expand my bandwidth 😂 ❓ Who feels seen with this post? 🥺❤️🩹 #mathskills #cardinality #onetoonecorrespondence #parenting #parentingtips #bilingualparenting #trilingualtoddler #toddlerspeakingchinese #toddlerspeakingspanish #toddlerspeakingenglish

The Rules of Engagement in Power BI: Cardinality Matters One of the most common reasons for slow reports, incorrect totals, and confusing visuals in Power BI is wrong relationship cardinality. Understanding how tables connect can completely change your data model performance and accuracy. The Three Core Cardinality Types: 1-to-Many (1:*) Best Practice One dimension record connects to many fact records Example: One Customer Many Sales ✔️ Fast ✔️ Reliable ✔️ Recommended in most Power BI models 1-to-1 (1:1) Rare Use Case Used when both tables contain the same level of detail Often these tables can be merged instead of related Many-to-Many (:) Avoid If Possible Creates complex relationships and ambiguity Requires a bridge table for accurate results A strong Power BI model always starts with clean relationships. Master cardinality, and your reports will become faster, clearer, and more trustworthy. #PowerBI #DataModeling #Cardinality #BusinessIntelligence #Analytics DAX PowerBICommunity DataAnalytics

DS 12 ✅ Simplified descriptions for each cardinality: ✅ One-to-One: Each thing matches exactly one other thing. ✅ One-to-Many: One thing can have many related things. ✅ Many-to-One: Many things connect to one specific thing. ✅ Many-to-Many: Many things connect to many other things. #dataanalytics #datascience #machinelearning
