New research suggests that dandelion root extract (DRE) may offer a promising natural approach against colon cancer. In lab studies, DRE triggered over 90% of colon cancer cells to self-destruct within 48 hours — while leaving healthy cells unharmed. Scientists discovered it activates multiple cell-death pathways, including caspase-dependent and independent mechanisms. Even cancer cells missing the p53 gene, one of the toughest to treat, were affected. Animal trials showed similar results, with tumor shrinkage and no signs of toxicity. Apoptosis is a programmed and highly regulated form of cell death, as a metaphor for emotional heartbreak. Apoptosis is essential for maintaining tissue health by removing damaged, unwanted or harmful cells without triggering inflammation.
