🇮🇹 Castello di Sirmione, Lombardia, Italia. Il castello di Sirmione è una rocca di epoca scaligera ( i Della Scala o Scaligeri furono una dinastia che governò sulla città di Verona dal 1262 al 1387) ed è un raro esempio di fortificazione lacustre. La costruzione ebbe inizio nel XIII secolo e fu ordinata dal podestà di Verona Leonardino della Scala, meglio conosciuto come Mastino della Scala. La struttura è bagnata su tutti i lati dal Lago di Garda e su uno di questi lati fu costruita la darsena, che un tempo rappresentava il luogo di rifugio della flotta scaligera. Le mura e le tre torri maggiori sono caratterizzate dalle merlature a coda di rondine che contraddistinguono ogni costruzione scaligera. Dietro questi torrioni c'è l'imponente mastio, alto 47 metri, sotto al quale si trovano le prigioni. La funzione del castello era quella difensiva e di controllo portuale, poiché la città di Sirmione, trovandosi in una.posizione di confine, era maggiormente esposta ad aggressioni. 🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️ 🇬🇧 The Sirmione Castle, Lombardy, Italy. The Sirmione Castle is a fortress of the Scaliger period (the Della Scala family or Scaliger family were a dynasty that ruled over the city of Verona from 1262 to 1387) and is a rare example of lake fortification. Construction began in the thirteenth century and was ordered by the Lord of Verona Leonardino della Scala, better known as Mastino della Scala. The structure is bathed on all sides by the Lake Garda and on one of these sides the dock was built, which once represented the refuge of the Scaliger fleet. The walls and the three major towers are characterized by the dovetail-shaped merlons that distinguish every Scaliger construction. Behind these towers is the imposing mastio, 47 meters high, under which the prisons are located. Castels of Catalonia “Força, equilibri, valor i seny“ the term means “Strength, Balance, Courage and Common Sense” Men, women, boys and girls all come together to create some of the most wild human “Castells” aka Castles. Stacking from what I witnessed over 7 people tall! Every person plays a roll from the strong sturdy humans at the bottom to the very young children that climb to the very top, putting them over 40 feet into the air. Dozens of groups from all over Spain joined to make this one of a kind festival happen. Tomorrow I’m going to introduce you to one of my favorite people who I met while I spent time in Barcelona. Mesmo em ruínas, a sua torre de cinco andares e muralhas evocam a imponência de um passado guerreiro e aristocrático. O cenário é de tirar o fôlego: cercado por montanhas e refletido nas águas tranquilas do lago, Kilchurn parece saído de uma pintura. A vista do pico Ben Cruachan ao fundo completa o quadro.  🏰 Castelo de Inveraray: elegância neogótica à beira do Loch Fyne   Residência ancestral dos Duques de Argyll, o Castelo de Inveraray é um ícone da arquitetura neogótica escocesa. Construído a partir de 1746, com projeto de William Adam e Roger Morris, o castelo combina simetria clássica com torres cônicas e jardins exuberantes. No interior, os salões decorados com tapeçarias de Beauvais, porcelanas europeias e uma impressionante coleção de armas históricas constituem o ponto alto. O Armony Hall, com o teto mais alto da Escócia, é um destaque absoluto. Além de museu, o castelo é lar da família Campbell, que ainda habita parte da propriedade.
