How Protestantism made me Catholic… 👇🏻 FIRST 📌 SAVE this for later so you can come back to it SECOND 👍🏻 LIKE and FOLLOW for more Catholic inspiration I was raised like many Catholics. I didn’t know Jesus, didn’t know my faith, didn’t know WHY we believed what we did… In a season of seeking, I was initially drawn to Protestantism because of their love for God, one another, the Scriptures and authentic, outward faith. I still appreciate the best of Protestantism to this day in my non-Catholic friends and pastors who continually help make me a better Christian. BUT, I couldn’t find Protestantism reasonable for several reasons: ➡️ Christ built ONE singular church. Yet Protestantism has thousands of denominations all believing different theologies. ➡️ Apostolic successors (bishops) were always the ones who would come together in councils, guided by the Holy Spirit, to decree dogmas binding on the universal church. This started with Acts 15, and continued throughout history, giving us the canon, Trinity and many other teachings. This is impossible with Protestantism. ➡️ Sola scriptura makes each person their own pope, and individual interpretation their own measuring stick for truth. This is condemned by scripture, yet is common practice in modern Christianity, not to mention that sola scriptura is no where taught in the Bible. ➡️ I wanted to go back to the beginning to see how the first Christians practiced and what they believed, but when I read their writings, it was obvious that the defining tenets of Protestantism were absent for almost 1500 years (what is obvious is the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, the authority of the bishop of Rome from Peter, Purgatory, confessing sins, the sacrifice of the Mass, Tradition, and many other distinctively Catholic teachings… I’d invite people to read the writings of the early church fathers and see for themselves what Christianity looked like. 👍🏻 LIKE and ✅ FOLLOW for more Catholic inspiration 📖 Get my new book “Resounding Truth” on Amazon 🔗 Download my FREE evangelism guide @ chrisbraymusic.com

If you’ve ever said “I used to be Catholic”… this one’s for you! So many people leave the Church believing it never gave them the gospel. That it was all ritual and religion with no real encounter with Jesus. And, I get it’s. I understand why it felt that way ❤️ But what if the gospel was there the whole time, and nobody ever pointed it out? Because it turns out the Mass has been preaching sin, salvation, and the cross out loud, together, every single Sunday: for two thousand years. #catholic #catholicism #jesus #christianity #catholicchurch 📖 RESOURCES MENTIONED Scripture * Romans 3:23 — our sinfulness before God * 1 Timothy 2:1-4 — interceding in prayer for one another * Acts 4:12 — salvation found in no one else * John 3:16 — God sending His Son for our salvation * Romans 5:8 — Christ dying for us * Revelation 19:9 — the supper of the Lamb * Matthew 8:8 — “only say the word and I shall be healed” The Mass * The Confiteor — Penitential Rite, Roman Missal * The Gloria — Roman Missal * The Nicene Creed — Roman Missal * Eucharistic Prayer IV — Roman Missal * Memorial Acclamation — Roman Missal * Communion Rite — Roman Missal 📚 FURTHER LEARNING 📕 The Lamb’s Supper — Scott Hahn Connects the Mass to the Book of Revelation in a way that will make you never see the liturgy the same way again. 🎥 “Why the Mass?” — Bishop Robert Barron, Word on Fire (YouTube) A beautiful and accessible breakdown of what the Mass actually is and why it matters. 📰 “The Gospel at Mass” — Catholic Answers (catholic.com) A solid article walking through exactly how the gospel is woven into every part of the liturgy.

Truth, goodness, and beauty. This is how God reveals Himself to us. All of these transcendentals are attractive to us. The Catholic Church is the home for these things, here on earth. Literacy is at an all-time high, and the truth is not gate kept anymore. We don’t have accept what our preacher down the street says about the early church, because now we have access to resources that are unbiased. We now know that the Catholic Church is the early church, and we won’t be quiet about it. To everyone who joined the Church this weekend, welcome home. It’s so easy to get caught up in the intellectual side of Catholicism. The writings of the Saints. The depth of the theologians. The beauty of the liturgy. The smells and bells. It feels like unlocking a safe you never knew existed… Suddenly there are countless prayers, devotions, rosaries, novenas, an entire spiritual treasury placed in your hands. And that part is beautiful. Truly. But. Yes, there’s a but. A subtle but honest one. For someone coming from an evangelical background, becoming Catholic can be far more overwhelming than it looks online. For years, you believed you were already 100% saved. For years, you didn’t live with daily rhythms of prayer. For years, sin didn’t require confession. For years, you lived by the world’s calendar, not the Church’s. All of a sudden…everything changes. Your habits. Your schedule. Your view of sin and grace. Your understanding of sacrifice. Your understanding of worship. Going from a faith that requires little of you to a faith that asks everything of you is not just a theological shift, it’s a total reorientation of your life. And yes…that can feel heavy. That can feel overwhelming. That can feel like too much at times. And the truth is Christ does not call us to comfort. He calls us to communion. If the Catholic Church truly is His Church, then this way of life isn’t arbitrary. It isn’t burdensome for the sake of being burdensome. It is demanding because love is demanding. And if He is who He says He is, then I trust that what He asks of us is exactly what we need. Not because it’s easy. But because it’s ultimately what Heaven requires of us. #Catholic #MakeAmericaCatholicAgain #HardTruth

Four years ago (2/18/21) while in RCIA class, I decided that I was going to become Catholic. Hours of tears in prayer, reading countless books, meeting with Catholic priests and Protestant pastors, watching debates… I came to believe Jesus established the Catholic Church and protected it with His Spirit leading the Magisterium. Four years later, I can confidently say it was the best decision of my life. — ❤️‍🔥 Justine #theologyofconversion #amdg #jesus #catholic #conversion #christian #christianity #mystory #eucharist #magisterium

Converting to Catholic after 6 years married to a Catholic man who never rushed me. What was the final deciding factor? The Eucharist miracles. Did you know in South America, a Eucharist that was dissolved in water literally turned into blood clots? The priest had the Eucharist sent to an independent lab to be blood tested. The blood was ALIVE and matched the blood type on the Shroud of Turin. I was shocked. The Eucharist was always something I couldn’t accept as a protestant. How can this cracker be Christ? The Eucharist miracles I absolutely believe are God revealing the truth about the body & blood of our Lord and Savior. I’m sure this comes as a shock to those of you who have known me for years, but we must always be open to changing our minds when we are convicted by the Holy Spirit. Each of us is on our own journey and timeline with the Lord. #Jesus #Catholic #Christian #Eucharist
