Comment “SCHOOL” and I’ll send you my favorite how-to-get-started homeschool checklist! ✏️ There simply isn’t enough space in a 90 second video to unpack everything I think about homeschooling. But here’s the preface: I have moments when I still consider sending my kids back to school. And also, these last three years of homeschooling were absolutely the right decision. Both things are true. I share my homeschool journey because it pushes back against the norm. Not for attention, but because I find it fascinating when people make conscious decisions that go against the majority. I remember sitting with this feeling three years ago — a quiet, nagging sense that school just wasn’t working for our family. I couldn’t fully explain it yet. And homeschool was never an obvious choice. Honestly, families who did it seemed a little weird. 😅 But the more I sat with myself and got honest about how I wanted these brief childhood years to look — it became clear. We pulled our boys. And what “school” has looked like for us has evolved: Catholic school, homeschool, co-op support, a brief two months back in public school during a pregnancy, back to homeschool, and now a homeschool hybrid. What I’ve learned is that there is no perfect solution. The better question is: what is best right now? How do I want our days to look? What will I look back on and be glad we did? That answer is a lot harder than any 90 second video can hold. But whatever you choose — you can always make that decision right for you. Next video, I’m sharing the full structure of our day. ❤️🙌🏻
