CELERIAC STEAKS, CHILLI CRISP + TAHINI YOGHURT

first time
2,526,249

CELERIAC STEAKS, CHILLI CRISP + TAHINI YOGHURT first time cooking with celeriac at home, and it did NOT disappoint. I decided to slice into steaks, score + sear, before basting in a miso garlic butter. then the steaks are sat on a bed of chilli crisp tahini yoghurt. I’ve written my full recipe for you, which can be found below. so enjoy, and as always, let me know if you give it a go! INGREDIENTS (serves 2) 1 large celeriac Olive oil, salt + pepper 250g greek-style yoghurt 4 tbsp tahini 1 tbsp chilli crisp 1 lemon 100g butter 1 tsp miso paste 4 garlic cloves, minced Chives Feta (I used plant-based alternatives) METHOD 1. Peel the celeriac by carefully slicing of the outer skin. Slice into 2cm thick steaks - you should get 4 from a large celeriac. 2. Season with salt + pepper, then lightly score with a smaller knife to help abosrb flavour + cook through. 3. To make the tahini yoghurt, simply whisk together the yoghurt, tahini, chilli crisp + lemon juice. Season to taste. 4. For the miso garlic butter, melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the minced garlic + miso paste, mixing well. 5. Warm a good glug of olive oil in a frying pan at a medium high heat. Sear the celeriac steaks (1 or 2 at a time), pressing down to help caramelise, for 3-5 minutes. Then flip + repeat. 6. Once the steaks are seared on both sides, begin to baste with the melted butter to help season + cook the steaks all the way through. Do this for another couple of minutes. 7. If your steaks aren’t cooked through, finish in the oven or airfryer for 5 mins (but after 10-15 mins of searing + basting they should be nice + tender) 8. To serve, spread the yoghurt in the middle of a plate. Place the celeriac steaks on top (2 per person), then drizzle with any leftover butter, fresh chives + more chilli crisp if you like 9. Enjoy alongside a good salad + bread if you like! #celeriac #steak #easyrecipes #comfortfood #plantbasedrecipes

My new fave steak 🥩 Did anyone else not know that celeriac is the bulb that celery grows from?? Or maybe I’ve been living under a rock x Anyway these celeriac steaks are so good, they make a meaty base to pour over the delicious sauce 💓💓 enjoy!! Ingredients (serves 4 but double up for a dinner party) For the steaks: 2 large celeriac Olive oil Salt & pepper For the sauce: 100g butter 1 small shallot, finely chopped 1 garlic clove, crushed 1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp cayenne 1 bunch parsley    1. Preheat oven to 170 °C Pierce celeriac all over with a fork then rub with olive oil, salt, pepper. Roast 2¼ to 2¾ hrs, basting every 20 mins, until deeply browned and soft. Let rest 15 mins, then slice into 2cm steaks ready for frying.  2. Meanwhile, make the sauce. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter with shallot, garlic, nutmeg, cayenne, salt & pepper. Cook for 10 mins until shallots soften & butter browns slightly. Take off the heat and stir in cream and parsley. Don’t worry if it looks split, it’s meant to be like that! 3. On a high heat, fry the steaks in olive oil for a few mins on each side until browning on the edge. Serve with the sauce and enjoy!! #vegetarian #vegetarianfood #vegetarianrecipes #recipeshare #recipeoftheday #dinnerparty #recipeideas #celeriac

Celeriac steaks with celery leaf salad. I find the easiest way to cook celeriac is to give it a good scrub and roast it whole with the skin on. From there it can be prepared in a variety of ways.

Celery Root Vegan Pastrami 🌿 🔥 The beast is back! Rich, smoky, and packed with deep, caramelized flavors. 📅 A year ago today, I shared this recipe, and it took off in ways I never expected. The first to truly go viral—millions of views, endless recreations, and a reminder of how amazing vegetables can be. 📖 Here’s how to make it: עברית בתגובות Ingredients For cooking: • 1 large celery root • 1 cup soy sauce • 5 cinnamon sticks • 5 star anise (optional) • Celery stems and leaves (from the root) For the sauce: • 3 tbsp olive oil • 1 onion, chopped • 3 garlic cloves, sliced • Leaves from 5 sprigs of fresh thyme • 1 tbsp coriander seeds • 1 tsp smoked paprika • 1 tsp chili flakes • 1 tsp salt • 4 tbsp sugar • 3 tbsp water • 2 cups red wine Method 1️⃣ Simmer the Celery Root Peel the celery root and place it in a pot with water, soy sauce, cinnamon, star anise, and celery leaves. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until softened but still firm. 2️⃣ Make the Sauce Preheat the oven to 220°C (turbo). In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes, then add garlic and thyme. After 2 minutes, stir in coriander seeds, smoked paprika, chili flakes, salt, and sugar. Cook for another 2 minutes. 3️⃣ Caramelize Pour in the water and let it evaporate, forming a light caramel. Add the red wine and let it reduce for 5-6 minutes until slightly thickened. 4️⃣ Roast Place the celery root in an ovenproof dish and coat generously with the sauce. Roast for 30 minutes, basting with more sauce every 10 minutes until deeply caramelized and golden. 5️⃣ Slice & Serve Let it rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly like pastrami. Drizzle with extra sauce and enjoy. #celeryroot #celeriac #pastrami #veganrecipe
